BRILLIANCE
I feel moved to say this: “We have brilliance in us”.I attended the hip-hop dance battle on Saturday. Oh, how brilliant our children are. A hall filled with people, looking up to a stage. Bodies vibrant, moving and rhythmic. Beautiful!! Brilliance, that’s what I call it.
You see the passion in their movement. Their masked faces, I can only imagine, smiling and enjoying all the uproar for them. Whistles, screams, uncontrollable crowds, standing on chairs. Brilliance admired in our youth.
As parents we are often so afraid that our children will end up doing the wrong things. What do you do in these situations where fear rules us? I say stand up and encourage them to do something other than drugs and alcohol.
Give your child an alternative. Support them rigorously! Don’t back down!! Acknowledge their brilliance. Be it dancing, singing, music, writing, whatever is brilliant in them. Allow them to shine and tap into the God-given talent they have.
Toekies I commend your youth. BRILLIANCE, I SAY, BRILLIANCE!!!!!
