Change
“Consistency is contrary to nature, contrary to life. The only completely consistent people are the dead”.Aldous Huxley
We often question ourselves before we make decisions. Big or small they will affect our lives. The ripple effect is just so vast that we cannot ignore change. Samuel Johnson said “Change is not made without inconvenience, even from worse to better”.
Our bodies change with age and so does our thoughts. We become careful and thoughtful after our teens and early twenties. We change jobs, homes, partners and friends.
We see our children progressing in technology. Mxit, computers and the internet. Cell phones to us are daunting, but to these children a joy. Sponge-like brains taking in as much as it can at one go. Children exposed to things that we only dreamt of.
A familiar song by the O’Jays “What would this old world be like in the year 2000” We have lived beyond that scary thought. We are living technology.
I fear that as the adults of this world we don’t grow with the times. Don’t you think its time we improved on this? I quote Francois Bacon “He that will not apply new remedies must expect new evils; for time is the greatest innovator.
Time is catching up with us and our children grow with it. Change with them and keep abreast of their activities. Always!!
