Children with special needs and their ability to s

Today, I just found out that all my students (11 children) can't do the marching steps (left leg step, right hand swing; right leg step, left hand swing). This made us, the teachers, surprised. I thought it was an automatic steps that we do.

When they walk like usual, they do it automatically (left leg step, right hand swing; right leg step, left hand swing). But when they're told to do it, they go: right leg step-right hand swing; left leg step-left hand swing. confused

I'm trying to find articles about that, but haven't succeed finding it..

If there's any special education teachers / special needs experts, mind to share your thoughts? Thanks! :)

Night it has to be imagenery string, tell them to imagine string tied to opposite leg and have them stand still at the threat of a ticklerolling on the floor laughing pull imaginary string up which pulls opposite leg. fun funteddybear

Keep it kind the way your doing it and it will work out. They just don't understand and as a special needs class they probably won't because their little brains won't function in such a way to make elementary ways for you and me easy for them. You'll find a way!
