What you have now is called Doubt. Doubt can be a good thing, as it can lead to curiosity, and curiosity can lead to research, which can then lead to evidence. Thing is, you are asking about that which can never be evidenced. How can you prove eternity exists? You can't. You can point out that X Holy Text proves eternity exists, but then you have to prove that THAT particular text hold the truth, and that itself becomes impossible.
There are two ways to remove doubt. The first is called Reason, and Reason is born of empirical evidence. Reason is born of that which you can measure, what you can observe. The other way to remove doubt is with Faith.
Faith is believing something unconditionally. You can have Faith in deities, and in fact when we hear the word faith, we assume it means to believe in a god. But Faith is not just limited to gods. We can also have faith in Science, faith in mankind's abilities to solve our problems, faith in Good, faith in Justice, etcetera. To many, Faith is a virtue.
In this case, the belief in deities becomes a question of Faith. Deities can not be proven or disproved, therefore their existence is dependent on whether you believe in them or not. In the end, you will realize that the question of whether Ahura Mazda exists and Ganesh is not real, or if Yahveh is the true god and Isanami is a figment of imagination, is a question only you can answer for yourself. Remember that we are all atheists; some people just believe in less gods than others.
As for truth, this is something my teacher once taught me. There were five blind men touching an elephant. One thought the elephant to be a rope, one thought it to be a spear, one thought it a pillar, another a stone, and another a fan. They were all wrong, but none could convince the other of this fact. They had seen the Truth, but because their perception was limited, they misunderstood it. We are like that. We can see the Truth, but because our perception is limited, we tend to misunderstand it.
And that;s the thing, isn't it? We have a limited perception in life. So why sweat the small stuff? Just relax and let it be.
By the way, archeology experts are quite often discovering Biblical sites which are mentioned in the Bible, proving that what the Bible says happened really did happen. Also, history records many events mentioned in the Bible.
For all truth claims exclude there opposite.
For example: If it is true Jesus is the only way to God,then every opposing view would be false.Since opposite things cannot both be true at the same time and in the same sense.
For there is one man in the history of the world that claimed to be God and proved it. Buddha's dead,Mohammond is dead, but Christ is risen! For Jesus demonstrated that he was Lord of all creation through his resurrection from the dead. Therefore, your eternal destiny depends upon what you believe about him.
Choose wisely!
