A Silverlining...
Everytime you've gotten hurtIts supposed to make you stronger
At the time you don't understand
Everything happens for a reason
Sometimes it can knock us down
Stop avoiding certain things
You are your own worst critic
Avoiding pain is like avoding love
Don't be afraid to take a chance
We live by choice not by chance
We may choose to avoid...
That something or someone
But why? What are we afraid of?
You can never avoid pain
No matter how hard you try
What is the silver lining in all this?
Without pain you can't experience....
Or appreciate love or lifes joys
Pain teaches us to see the light
Regardless how much it hurts
Yet some emotional pain lingers on
The silver lining is a lesson in disguise
These lessons are blessings in disguise
You learn so much if you pay attention
That's if you open your mind & heart

"Everything changes. Everything is connected. Pay attention"
I think she might have been referring specifically to Bhuddist traditions, however I think there's a very large element to life in what she said.
Anyways, enough of that, I liked your poem very much. There's some very valuable ingredients to happier living contained in it. A good reminder that the individual person has to learn the lessons for her/him self.
Thank-you.
And you're welcome. I'm glad you like my poem. And thanks for your comment.
A tad typsy last night.
