CS Island of Misfit Toys
With Christmas being only a few days away, I'm reminded of one of the classic Christmas movies we watched as a kid: Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. I really loved the misfit toys. So I had this idea. I suppose its a really hokey idea, but hopefully a few of you will play along. If you were to invent a misfit toy, what kind of toy would it be? What would it look like and what would it do? What would make it a misfit kind of a toy? Maybe you could pattern your toy off of something you wanted and never got as a kid.
Growing up we were not well off, but we weren't poor. I was always pretty content with what I got for Christmas. But there was one thing I really wanted that I didn't get and somehow I never forgot about it. I had asthma really bad and had to go in for those useless shots once a week at the base hospital. Mom and I were frequent visitors to the ER during the night and so on. Once, when I went in for one of my weekly shots there was an Ad at the check-in desk for a doll that had asthma. It was just a stuffed doll, no batteries or anything. I believe the point of it was to give the asthmatic child something to identify with as asthma can be a lonely, ostracizing kind of thing to deal with as a kid.
So my misfit doll will have asthma. And she'll talk. Only when she talks, she will be gasping for air and wheezing. She'll come with her own special accessories...an inhaler, a bicycle pump with nebulizer, (no, not a budwiezer as zero puts it) and a set of shots (fake needles only) and a set of Spiderman bandages. Other accessories may be purchased separately.
So, anyone else wanna play?

Just kidding. So, are you going to do a matchmaker toy for this Island? Or would that be a mismatchmaker? Hmmm
Then he goes up and down the stairs looking in areas he knows he hasn't put the lost item and suddenly it appears when you pick up a newspaper or a magazine!

Ed, that's awesome. I guess getting old makes us a bit of a human misfit, doesn't it? So would your toy come with a pre-approved AARP card? I actually had to google that 'cuz I couldn't remember what that group was called!
PS: The discount certificate is good for any toy gun purchase but it gives the bigest discount on toy assault rifles .
