Not another Valentine's Day blog
Oh wait, this IS another Valentine's day blog!To some this day is disdainfully con$umeri$tic; the only winners being Hallmark, chocolatiers, jewelers and the like, robbing poor hapless men of their hard-earned buck$ for one frivolous day of nothingness.
To some, it's the day those OTHER women receive bouquets of flowers and sweet nothings, while they sit at home re-watching Sleepless in Singlesville to a lonely glass of red whine.
To some, it's just another day. The thrill came and went so long ago they're unsure it ever really happened at all.
To others it's a much anticipated day; a day to revel in being a lovestruck couple and the mushier and more extravagant the better.
For others, Valentine's day is a lovely horizon, an opportunity. A hope of someone special and love and memories yet to come. To those, Valentine's day is a celebration, not an obligation. A bookmark lingering at a part of the story meant to be savoured and re-read over and over again.
