Should you or should you not...

...give someone, both male and female, who has or had a criminal record another chance at love or friendship? Why or why not?

over here if you forget to pay your parking tickets you will get a criminal record ......wave
In Portugal, it is illegal to pee in the ocean...grin

Responding to your question: depends!
I personally dont worry too much about that.
Because most of your criminals are running the economy.
Most of the so called criminals in prison, were innocent in the first place, only not to be liked by the judge and law enforcement, who see their face, and say, oh, no this guy is guilty, lets get him. Or they dig so deep, and manufacture something, if they cant find anything.
wave Tere,

My ex hubby was in a prison for 4,5 years because killing somebody when he still in teen age. Yes, you should give a chance, not all a criminal was that bad handshake hug
I guess everybody has the right to have a second chance, people can change after paying for mistakes, and I am not referring to money, we are not perfect just humans; some unfortunately don't change ever I wouldn't consider giving a chance to one of this kind. There are different actions typified as crimes and depending on those I would give someone a second chance, except for killing or raping.
I don't have a problem in this one, but I will still need to know what kind of crime they did ..
You would need to consider the crime. The examine his lifestyle, i.e., is he holding a job, does he have a house or an apartment, is he paying his bills (if he's not he could be a druggie), does he still hang around the old group of buddies that got him probably into a "don't care attitude". All of that. In other words is he responsible.

Too much to ponder? Then consider this. If he's not responsible then he's going to be a BIG problem in your life.
Novita-
Yes, for killing is a serious crime because I've experienced that in the past and just as long as he doesn't hurt someone he loves then, well, there goes our answers.

To all of you, I can understand that but in my experience, a woman is easily and quickly judged because of the society but for a man, well, he is either forgiven or staked. But I guess, depends on which crime and their past.

I think this is the scary world we live in right now.
