Having been inspired by Hans and still not able to figure out the #2 riddle that he's got going on, my daughter suggested that we also do a riddle.... so here goesI come in many colours, am firm but I can smudge ... what am I?

Hans my daughter is now 24 ... she was certainly having fun last night thinking of this and may try this game on her facebook page.
I do hope, that after an agonizingly correct amount of time has passed you will reveal the answer - for it is slowly driving me insane....
So next clue, is that it can have different textures. The previous clues were I come in many colours, am firm but I can smudge? What am I?
