Why on earth would anyone commit to that in this day and age? Especially someone who has before? Was he that bad??
If the issue is you live in a really small town, may I suggest a weekend in the city, check into a nice hotel and hit the lounge at happy hour? If small town gossip isn't the issue, then for heavens sake let your hair down, get some now and then. It really does help keep things in perspective.
