Angel, only rain so far in Tn.???? My family is not calling me back right now!!!
Sending positive vibes and best wishes that all is well especially sending prayers for all affected by these tornadoes. Hope you get home soon!
Bajan, that is so kind of you!!!!
I have some dear friends in Arkansas and they are in the middle of the storm as well. I knew them when we lived in Colorado. Another state full of tornados in the Spring and Summer!!
I went through this when the hurricanes hit at the very airport I was scheduled to land at in 2012 - they tried putting me on a flight that connected in a different area, but the Ireland flight I was scheduled for only uses one airport in the U.S. So they ended up delaying me for an entire week. I know they charge a fortune if you change your flight(not like in the old days), but if it's dangerous, the airlines will reschedule you and you won't get charged.
I know something about those storms, too. I lived in Moore, OKlahoma for years, and went through the May 3, 1999, May 8, 2003 and several more slightly less severe. I now avoid Okla. in May, where some of my family is... last yr. I left just in time, before Moore was hit again - unfortunately, it was a very unusual storm, and I imagine you heard about the 3rd grade class that didn't make it out of the school, b/c there was very little warning time.
But usually, the warning time is very, very good when it comes to tornadoes & deadly hail, lightening, and all the crazy weather Okla. gets on a pretty regular basis - so I would guess that your family is alright even though you haven't heard anything - phones are usually out for a while, and electricity may be out for days, depending on how close and how much damage there was.
Hope you've had some good news by now, but saw this post & thought I'd reply just in case...
