`You are my sunshine`
I remember being sat on his knee.. (so was obviously, reasonable young) about 4 years old.
He did sing many songs.. all the time but that is one of them that stands out to me along with `Old Man River` and `Rag time cowboy Joe` (which I have never heard anybody but my dad sing ) wondering if he made that one up ... but don`t think so

I hope you're fine, I've been reminiscing about my time here on CS this morning, and I must admit I miss it. We had great times in the past.
I grew up with my dad playing guitar and serenading to my mom. I loved it so much, and the one song that stayed with me all these years is "Have I told you lately that I love you" today I still think its a beautiful song.
You know very well what I'm gonna say next, don't cha?
Aren't you a sweetheart Val!!
Just saying.
I grew up without my parents too. Only met my father for the first time when I was 15. Went to stay with him for a week but ended up hating him more.
Thank god my maternal grandparents were great! I know I've said it numerous times but I'm gonna say it again..... I wanna be their grand daughter again in my next life........
