My Secret Place

In my secret place
Along the riverside
I sit among God's wonders
Reach out and close my eyes.
I can feel the sounds
As I listen to the wind
Still the raging emotions
Let my mind take it in.
My soul soars with the eagle
As he dives to take his prey.
My blood races with the deer
And takes my breath away.
I find my secret place
When my heart cries for the child
To soothe the pain and ease my soul
For just a little while.
