Am I the only one who thinks that south Africans sounds slightly British? Or is it just me?????? Feedback plz!

Depends on the South African. We have 11 official languages. One of them is English. Many English-speaking Saffers - like myself - have British parents and therefore speak like our parents.
We learn the Queen's English in school. laugh

Actually, to my ear S. Africans speak perfect English, as well
as Kiwis do too.
I think they sound more like kiwis, but not quite as bad.

I was watching an episode of "house hunters international" and the guy was from Durban South Africa and his accent sounded slightly British and BTW drrban looks beautiful????

Kanda, there are hundreds of South African accents, it also depends very much on which area you live, what your mother tongue is and, as Eleg said, where you were educated

In South Africa I sound British, in Britain I sound South African to the locals.
