Pandemic Schmandemic--EIS, CDC, WHO... Medico-schmos....the lot....

....At the prestigious Vierk Institute, we of course specialize in the study of severe behavioral syndromes affecting reason and judgment, not to mention understanding, and the inability not to piss up the old kilt, ---such as TD-HD Syndromes. But we have a great infectious disease division as well, responsible for proving, among other things, that wanton unprotected anonymous sex by male homosexuals was the largest initial factor in the rapid spread of HIV-AIDs, as to innocent little Black girls, in sickle cell disease crises, and others, via the fago tainted blood supply. But I digress. Based on our vast experience as medical detectives, while we agree that this recent world problem is of course largely caused by the virus known as Novid 19, there are also strong factors that coincidentally correspond to the recent US presidential primary debates. It seems that so much PANDERing makes many sick, leading to vomiting (EMESIS), especially in those with preexisting conditions. This, we show, lowers the ability of the immune system to fight off these nasty little vuckers. Now that these global health organizations have finally declared that a pandemic exists, as of today, we really think other names apply. We suggest PANDEREMESIS, to better fully reflect the etiology. As with TD-HDS, we are hot on the tails of a cure.

It is, in my opinion, highly unethical,.....

.....for some clinicians to pontificate diagnostic on the mental health of our Brilliant and Dazzling Ivy League grad President Trump's alleged mental health issues. So I will not digress accordingly on Creepy Joe Biden. But diagnoses, differential or evolving, require lot's of clinical input. Much more than merely watching someone on TV or even in person. Gladly, this inappropriate behavior is helpful in further refining the detection of Trump Derangement-Hilary Deficit Syndromes. The incredible strength of the behavioral components of same is striking. Professionals, well aware of the rules, are willing to be blinded by their ueber liberal compulsions and hate, in doing so. With no sanction from the liberal academic and clinician certification outfits. Trump in November.

Robbery

This morning at the Post Office while waiting in line to be helped 2 masked men entered and I could feel the tensions of the people rising with everyone on edge.
When the short guy yelled "This is a robbery, get down on the floor, NOW" We all relaxed.
cool thumbs up

What kind of an Idiot

Would cut funding for the Center for Disease Control, when we're faced with a global pandemic?

Toe jamb futball...

For years as a project manager and salesman I wore lightweight construction boots as a portion of my day was walking around construction sites. When I was promoted to sales manager, nearly all my time was spent in the office. I started wearing soft sole athletic shoes. With less support than the boots, my feet would hurt at the end of the day.
A few times doing home renovation, I'd wear boots, but mostly it was the soft shoes. The bad thing is when I accidentally kicked something... ouch!
About 3 weeks ago I developed a pain in the big toe of one foot after doing some furniture moving. Yeah, whatever I kicked seemed to kick back! Sore to the touch it was inflamed and I treated it with antibiotic cream for a few days, but that was only marginally better.
Time for a podiatrist. I found one close to home and he was able to get an appointment without a long wait.
After inspecting the toe, it was determined the nail was ingrown along one side and it could be easily cut. Asked if I wanted a shot of anesthesia, my response was YES!!
With a long thin needle he mixed two different medicines. One was quick acting and the other was long lasting. Three nerves needed to be numbed and the pain from the injection was greater than the pain from the ingrown toenail.
The pain sensation was still there so he hit me with around of anesthesia and 15 minutes the entire area was numb. Another 15 minutes and the procedure was complete.
No pain last night, no pain this morning and all day... no pain.
Thinking back... I shouldn't have waited so long.

Very good news regarding the Coronavirus

A lot of progress has taken place in understanding the coranavirus.
The genes have been sequenced and proteins have been made.
Indeed, one of those proteins is a "spike" protein that the virus uses to attach
to a host cell. It's sort of like an anchor that initiates further progress in the
infection process.
After the virus attached to the cell, the membranes of the cell and the virus then fuse,
enabling the RNA of the virus to enter the cell and direct new virus production.

Well, genes for this spike protein itself have been isolated and incorporated into cells.
These cells were then used to make lots of this spike protein.
Subsequently, this protein has been 3D mapped and now it has been sent to many
research teams to both produce drugs for treatment and to use as antigens to make vaccines.

Thus within a month or two, vaccines will possibly become made and tested for effectiveness.
The bottom line, is that progress is rapidly being undertaken.

There may actually be something good to come out of this. The common cold is caused by a virus
in the coronavirus family. Imagine if one of the vaccines against the new virus also works to
prevent the common cold. It is possible. It would be a nice positive side effect.
I can hear the potential commercials now. laugh
