California fentanyl bust: Feds seize one million counterfeit pills worth up to $20 million.



Law enforcement seized about one million counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl at a residence in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood last week, the DEA announced on Thursday.

The pills have an estimated street value of $15 to $20 million and are believed to be linked to a drug trafficking ring associated with the Sinaloa Cartel.

"This massive seizure disrupted the flow of dangerous amounts of fentanyl into our streets and probably saved many lives," DEA Special Agent in Charge Bill Bodner said in a statement.

Fentanyl, a dangerous opioid up to 100 times stronger than morphine, was detected in about two-thirds of the record 107,622 fatal drug overdoses last year, according to the CDC.

Drug dealers often lace fentanyl with other drugs, such as heroin and counterfeit pills, to increase their profits, according to the DEA.

"The deceptive marketing coupled with the ease of accessibility makes these small and seemingly innocuous pills a significant threat to the health and safety of all our communities," Bodner said. "A staggering number of teens and young adults are unaware that they are ingesting fentanyl in these fake pills and are being poisoned."

Los Angeles is a common stopping point for drug trafficking rings due to the city's proximity to the southern border and the many airports and freeways that make it easy to smuggle drugs to other destinations throughout the United States.

The DEA seized more than 3 million fentanyl pills last year in the greater Los Angeles area, almost three times as much as they seized in 2020. About 1.5 million fentanyl pills have been seized this year.

Manhattan paramedics, responding to a call for cardiac arrest, found a 73-year-old woman in the Upper East Side apartment where Ivana Trump lived just after 12:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the FDNY.

In a statement on his platform Truth Social, Donald Trump remembered Ivana as a "wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life."

"Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric," he wrote. "She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her."

Morrissey, who has been featured on HBO, The Ellen Show, Golf Channel and credits for Tiger Woods for inspiring a “heart of mentality in me,” is about to see himself on SportsCenter for one specific home run where he went yard on a breaking pitch that was deposited over the all-star village left-field wall with the use of his left arm.

It was such an impressive shot that the umpire working home plate needed to get ‘five’ from Tommy as he rolled towards home plate to celebrate with his teammates.

Todd Kohlhepp is a notorious American serial killer who was declared guilty of killing seven people in South Carolina, between 2003 and 2016. Born in Florida and raised in South Carolina and Georgia, Todd had a troubled childhood, which warped his psyche and turned him into a gruesome killer. His stint with crime began with a rape that he committed when he was 15. He kidnapped a 14-year-old girl, tied her up, and brought her to his home. He raped her and threatened to kill her if she told anybody about the crime. He was sent to jail for 15 years upon getting convicted. He was released from prison in 2001, and it was believed that the education he received in prison had changed his ways to some degree and had made him a better person.
