WHY do we give?

So many of the world’s inhabitants are in need of basic survival resources, that those of us who are blessed often feel constrained to give what we can towards helping such persons. Hence we are all familiar with “giving”. The very word presents the idea of being selfless/altruistic, but do we always give out of selflessness?

Some of us give because we want to impress others, or repay others or get something in return, so that’s really being “selfish”, not selfless. Some of us give because we may have been coerced/forced to do so, so that doesn’t count either. But, some of us give because we truly ‘want’ to; ‘giving’ gives us joy, makes us feel useful, allows us to share with others as a way of bonding, expressing love or just being kind and compassionate, not expecting anything in return.
Yet even for those reasons, we may be seen as being selfish (but in a good waygrin ).

Jesus gave His very Life for us. Was He being selfish (but in a good way)? If so, what did He hope to gain for Himself by leaving His heavenly home, taking on the form of a mere man, living amongst us, being betrayed and tortured, then dying a cruel death? Yes, He lives again (no thanks to us), but even now He continues to give us His love and attention. I’ve often wondered if He ever questioned whether we are worth what He gave/gives. But for Him, it's all about His Motive/s.

For us to give 'selflessly', I think it depends on our motive/s also.

Blessings everyone.angel2 teddybear

Forwarded this sketch I found at google. He was surprised. EXACT COPY OF HIS FACE! I told him about the black golden dragon flag pirate ship. I kept on seeing in my minds eye. How I vomit after he left my house for a 1st personal meeting. I can feel the blood(faint smell) & gore of the pillage of Guandong during his time. But I did not see the detailed violence of the village raid. The angel of God covered my eyes. I will go into shock even go crazy if I saw everything they did. That he was Limahong. As a chinese pirate he cause a lot of trouble. It is his karmic debt (by birth date computation)that brought him back to earth. Now is the time for soul evolution. He have someone from the past. A lost love. This time they are destined to meet and establish a relationship. SOULMATES are real. I determined who it was. their souls in a tight embrace. During a personal energy reading and remote view. To fulfill a mission to usher a new earth.heart beating

atheist, theist, semi-theist and semi-atheist

No one is completely (pure 100%) theist and no one is completely (pure 100%) atheist. Every person is a semi-theist and a semi-atheist. Some have more theism and some have more atheism.
But we can say that except humans, all other species are pure 100% atheists.

What is the benefit of being atheist or theist in our practical life?
There is goodness and badness in both atheist and theist.
Good changes in us come from our good-thoughts and good-deeds, not from being theist or atheist.

Finding Peace in one's space, and with others.

Some people believe that living alone is unhealthy. But ‘living alone’ and ‘being lonely’ are two different things, and the former state is very healthy. Living alone can help to bring about inner peace and contentment, whilst the latter can cause great unease and even depression.

Being at peace with God involves an intimacy that I believe can only come in the midst of physical and mental quiet. It has been my personal experience that living alone facilitates a greater connection with God, a clearer vision of His Greatness, and a better understanding of the extent of His Love towards me. Being alone in the still quite moments of one’s day, can help one to better develop one’s spiritual bond with God, and eventually, with others.

When I am not alone, I have to struggle to control my thoughts because of the many distractions that either vie for my attention or the attention of the others who may be occupying the space with me. When I am not alone, I have to remember the needs of others, temper my moods, exercise tolerance and patience, avoid causing offense, listen to sounds that may be disturbing my physical and mental peace and be a ‘good Christian’. When I am not alone, it can be difficult to maintain a gentle and quite spirit.

All of that distracts me from just being at Peace with myself, my space and God.

If you live alone, but don't appreciate how blessed you are, so think again. If you do, then continue to enjoy. heart wings
