My dad found an old glam shot I did when I was 20. He said Omg look how beautiful you were. What happened? Omg my dad is so mean. Haha! Enjoy this pic all. My dad wanted to keep it. I said no I want it! It’s my photo! Then he found another one so I let him keep it but my gawd what am I a dog now?? rolling on the floor laughing I didn’t even like how she did my makeup for this session.

So this is not a catfish guys because I dated the photo. Don’t come at me. Just thought it would be fun to post.

Why are almost all ships considered 'female'?

Credit to: Rey
Naval Architect & Tech Enthusiast

We always call a ship a ‘she’ and not with out a reason,
For she displays a well shaped stern regardless of the season,
She scorns the man whose heart is faint and does not give him pity,
And like a girl she needs the paint to keep her looking pretty.

For love she’ll brace the ocean vast, be she a tramp ship or liner,
But if you fail to tie her fast you sure that you will lose her,
Be firm with her and she’ll behave, when clouds are dark above you,
And let her take the water wave, praise her and she’ll love you.

For she will take the roughest seas, and angry waves that crowd her,
And in a brand new coat of paint, no girl looks any prouder,
The ship is like a girl at that, she’s feminine and swanky,
You’ll find the one that’s broad and fat, is never mean and cranky.

On ships and girls we pin our hopes, we fondle and love them,
And every man must know his ropes or else he cannot handle them,
Yes, ships are lady like indeed, for take them all together,
The ones that show a lot of speed, can’t stand the roughest weather.

A ship is called a “she” because there is always a great deal of bustle around her; there is usually a gang of men about, she has a waist and stays; it takes a lot of paint to keep her good looking; it is not the initial expense that breaks you, it is the upkeep; she can be all decked out; it takes an experienced man to handle her correctly; and without a man at the helm, she is absolutely uncontrollable. She shows her topsides, hides her bottom and when coming into port, always heads for the buoys.peace

What defines beauty...

I went to high-school with a girl who was 'scary ugly' and we made cruel jokes about her looks "She was so ugly, her parent's had to tie a pork chop around her neck just to get the family dog to play with her"
Southern humor, I know.
Around the time we were in college she was driving a luxury sports car. Coming from a middle-class family, everyone took notice. Her looks changed, but not from the ugly duckling to a swan. She was still 'very unusual' and the story was she became a fashion model. That 'look' was marketable.
At that point any local guy who wanted to date her... didn't have a chance.

There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for othersdancing

Photogenic much? That could be a problem.

I first remember being complimented as being photogenic whilst in my 20s; at least, I assumed that it was a compliment. To me it meant that I looked great in photos. However, quite recently I heard the term again, but the tone of the commenter implied that it wasn’t a compliment. What??!! Is it that the camera has made me look better than I really do, without it? Which had me thinking…hmmm
Could looking good in pictures be one of the problems that some people on CS have with the profile pics of others?

Most recently, there was a post in the forums about a concern over the person that one finally meets in the flesh, matching with his/her profile pics. For men, this may be more of a problem than for women. We women are more often changing things up with our appearance (e.g. hair - length, colour, texture; face - features, eyebrows, lashes, lips; etc), so it’s understandable that we may not ‘match’ with our pics if they haven’t been updated. (I’m currently a buttery/soft blonde, on my way to platinumgrin). However, men seldom make those kinds of changes, sometimes having the same look for decades.

But, with photoshopping (i.e. lighting, filtering, etc) being the latest way of enhancing one’s appearance to make it “photogenic”, it’s easy for some of us to get carried away. Hence convincing someone you eventually meet for a date that you and your profile pics are the same person, might be a challenge. And that’s not just with women, but also with men who ‘seem’ to have lied about their hair, height, weight and physicality (based on the pics on display) or, who didn’t lie but just haven’t updated their pics to reflect their current image.

Perhaps, just as it automatically updates our age, the CS system should be equipped with the relevant modern software to update pics as well?laugh I know that that might cause a riot, especially since some persons age less gracefully than othersgiggle. Still, even if you’re not naturally photogenic, what about what you’re like on the INSIDE? Shouldn’t that be just as, if not more, important? Yes, it’s easy to get turned on/off by the visual, but being photogenic is mainly about what one looks like, not what one thinks like, lives like or loves like. And that’s really where the problem arises….don’t you think?hmmm

Body part(s) on us that we don't like, and wish we could change

I think we can all relate to this, and wished that we could change something we don't like on our bodies.

When I hit around 13 years old, I had these little boobs that had developed, but then I had started putting on a little weight in junior high. When I was in high school I was pretty thin. I had muscle more than fat, so I was pretty solid, but it didn't look like it because I was very small built. I had always wore a black jacket in high school because I still had these "perky boobs". Yeah, it embarrassed me, so I tried to hide them. I pretty much called my light weight black jacket (members only jacket) my trademark.

When I started work as a cashier at a grocery store chain (Festival Foods) in 1993, we had to wear these green shirt with with words "Festival Foods" in yellow coloring across the front. One of my fellow workers who was just a little younger that me said that my boobs were bigger than hers. Talk about being a little embarrassed by that remark. rolling on the floor laughing

I still have those "perky little boobs today. But ya know, it doesn't really bother me as much as it did when I was younger.

If you would like to share yours, feel free to. wave

All the crazy locations birthmarks are on people

I think all, or at least most people have some sort of birthmark on their body somewhere. Some will say they don't have one, but chances are, they have one, they're just not aware of it.

Personally, my birthmark is on my left ear lobe.

Growing up I had some kids come up to me inquiring if an earring was ripped from my ear. I would laugh and say no, it's a birthmark. To be honest, it actually does look like an earring was ripped out of my ear. It's a slit on the bottom of my left ear lobe.

If anyone would like to share stuff about their birthmarks, we would love to hear them.

Photo Fakes...

I have a pretty good memory for photos I've seen before. Checking new members on another site, I came across one I thought was suspicious... just something about it that got my attention. It reminded me of the 10 members with the same dress, hairstyle and brick wall background.

That led me to a site called 'faceinahole' where you could superimpose an image into an existing surround. It's like 'Photoshop for dummies'

My suspicion was correct. While I don't know the origin, I was able to find other photos of 'different faces with the same background' and consider them to be fakes...
Why? Because they are.

Here are 3 examples of faked photos:

(I know, the 3rd one is a little frightening)

Investigating more, I found a site that links to TikTok and a few short clips showing how someone stitches their face into a background:

Various types of hair accessories

On Halloween I decided to put my hair in in a ponytail. Never done this before and thought I would try it. Had a lot of good feedback on it. I tried putting a black hair tie in my hair, but had a difficult time trying to do this, so I had a co worker help me with this. rolling on the floor laughing

Anyway, I tried to take it out of my hair after 4 1/2 hours into the shift since I felt it pulling my hair scalp since she wrapped it up pretty tied. She assisted me again on taking it out for me.

After that, I decided to try another way. Using a small black hair claw clip. Well, that worked a lot better. I wore that last Saturday.

I found a two piece package that had a black and the other color was a dusty pink. Not wearing the pink one. rolling on the floor laughing

Just curious to know what your favorite hair accessory to use for a ponytail. This is for anyone that sports a ponytail.
