She makes $350K a year and lives paycheck to paycheck...

I'm reading a story on Market Watch redirected from Yahoo! Finance about a woman who cannot get her finances in order. Her gross salary is $350,000, she's got $88,000 remaining in student loans, $170,000 in car loans and a mortgage of $4,500 a month.
Her question is "Do I need professional help?"
My answer is yes... but not from a financial advisor... Lady, you need help from someone with a degree in mental health.

Before finishing the story, I jumped to the reader comments to see what the other readers thought about this woman's situation. I'd say she wasted money on her education... they didn't teach her common sense.

GULF AIRWAYS BLAMED BY US & EU AIRWAYS FOR COMPETI

Recently, both US & EU airlines ratchet up rhetoric against Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad.

Several US and european air carriers have once again accused airlines based in Qatar and the UAE of unfairly competing for passengers, and are asking American and EU politicians to restrict the Gulf carriers’ access to their market.

American and EU airline executives appear to be escalating matters by asking lawmakers to renegotiate the so-called open-skies agreements that the US & EU has with Qatar, the UAE and many other countries.

"THE RESPONSE OF THE QATAR AIRWAYS CHIEF EXECUTIVE TO US AND EU AIRLINES WAS BITING, ACCORDING TO HIM THE GULF STATES WILL NEVER FLY A ROTTEN AIRPLANE THAT IS 35 YEARS OLD"

Directly challenging the average age of planes being flown by USA and EU air carriers.

Imported Goods controversy

There is still much controversy about whether or not cheaper imported goods are of quite the same quality as the ones made here in the USA or once made here. When it comes to tools, some maintain the cheap imported tools are made of metals either too soft or improperly heat treated. Others argue that although some Americans may have suffered 'temporary' losses of income when the local factories laid them off so the manufacture could take place in far away lands, the over all benefit to the consumer outweighs the local economic setbacks and the overall quality of the tool is not lessened. These folk maintain they feel the same confidence holding a tool marked made in XXXX as they did holding a tool bearing the Made in the USA stamp.

So someone went to a local Walmart and purchased a crescent wrench which was not made in America. Surely this new lower cost tool would give every consumer confidence their new purchase was the equal of the older tools.

US Government Needs to Step Into THIS Century

The end of the year and, as usual, the stupid US border patrol has deemed that everyone has to file an electronic manifest. Okay, that's not a problem. The problem?

They use Internet Explorer! No one uses that out-dated browser anymore. No one. Oh, but the US government does. And you can't even get into the site without it. No wonder the government gets hacked.

I use a Mac exclusively. I don't do PC - ever. I hate the stupid things. So now I've had to get a pc just so I can file a manifest. I'm beginning to think it'd be cheaper and easier just to mail the stuff from Canada and to hell with customs.

My sister gave me an old laptop of hers with some pixels missing but good enough to still use. So I open it up this morning, and 3% of 76 updates pops up. Oh great. So now it'll be who knows how long for the thing to update before I can even use it! And yes, I have to go south with a manifest today. What a major pain in the a$$.

So I guess I'll go with the old paper manifest and just bite the bullet on going in. I cannot believe that the government would be so far behind that they'd still use Internet Explorer - which Mac doesn't even support anymore.

What a stupid system that people HAVE to have a PC in order to file a manifest. I've never seen anything so backwards in my whole life. The entire business world makes their sites compatible with all operating systems.

If the US government wants to be the greatest, try stepping into this century.
