Apparently, makes one fall over.

I was told by a student yesterday.

Yes, obviously I have addressed the matter of 'how to manage our recreational time'

Anybody else know this or worse, tried it?

I like cows, I love how when you walk past them, they chew, calmly and watch you from those big, bovine, eyes.

I thought this would make for interesting conversation.

Sighs!

Have you ever pushed a cow, Smoky?

I can see you now, with your ciggie hanging out of your mouth, with a hat on, sneaking to those luch green fields you have in Switzerland, sneaking up behind the cow and testing my student's theory.

You know you want to.

Go on, I think I would be frightened.

Oh, thanks for the enlightenment!rolling on the floor laughing

Nein .. I would never try and Push a Cow! First off - I`d have to climb over the electrified fencing! Yes - Swiss Farmers surround their cows with electricity now! Maybe its to keep out the people wanting to steal those beautiful big brass cow-bells they got hanging around their necks?confused

Even the ducks houses are surrounded now with electric fences! The owners dont realise that little kiddies dont read the notices .... and my grand-daughter (its a treat - usually - to go feed the ducks) rushed up to the fence with her bread .......threw her chest against the top wire ... and got ZZZZZZZZAPP-D!

I think people are beginning to steal things now in Switzerland?sigh

Pleasure. grin

I cannot think of pushing a cow, or pusing one for that matter.

Austrian farmers do that too, surround their cows with elctric fences.

Our chickens are not surrounded with electric fences, not at the farm across the street from me.

No, poor little love, was she okay? Goodness, I never thought about a child being zapped, but now you mention it, of course, children are enticed by animals.

Noooooo! Not in Switzerland too, we have not much stealing going on in Austria.

Hi there.

Yes, this I learnt too, by one of my American students.

Do people do it for a hobby there? Given that it has a name.

And who can blame the cows, I would get terribly pissed off, if every time a human passed me, they pushed me over.

But on a deeper level, it is not something to do with equilibrium?

There is a reason why cows fall over when pushed?

I know it seems an odd subject, but I find it intriguing as to why they would fall over.

Amusement aside for a moment.

Not likely, probably will get you stomped or kicked.
Besides,Cows usually lie down to sleep.
They might look stupid, but they ain't.laugh

Seems to be another Urban Myth.Besides,it will probably earn you a Charge of Cruelty to Animals, whether the Cow is tipped or not.

I suspected that there would be a charge involved.

In the UK if you hit a sheep that is in the road with your car, then you are the one that has to pay the vet bill.

Cows are not stupid, that is why I found it such a topic when my student came out with it.

Sni**ers.

It is a serious thread and I am expecting to come in and help me out here.

I love Conrad, but I would prefer to discuss it than read Wiki.

From what I know about Cows(worked for Farmers sometimes)and what I found on Google is,that a Cow can react pretty fast, and quite violently is necessary. If you brush down a Cow in the Stable, you had better do that from the Side, not from behind the Animal, unless you want to get severely kicked.
I think tipping over a Cow would be an exception, definitely not the rule.laugh

No belittling your topic at all, Sommer. Only that it had me wondering for many a minute what 'pusing' might mean.

Only to find it should have read 'pushing'. Now I have been enlightened, and I hold my head in shame as I admit I know absolutely about cows, other than I love the sound of cow bells. And how peaceful they look and sound with their occasional 'moo' as they graze.yawn

Oh I know you would not belittle this topic, I know nothing about cows.

I must apologise to smoky and Butterfly, I know how it irritates them when things are spelt incorrectly, but I did not have my contact lenses in and of course, I pressed submit in haste.

It was a serious conversation we had at school.

I cannot stop thinking about it. I feel it is something that would be good to do a research paper on.

No, it is when you approach a cow from behind and push them, they fall over.

Now, how many cows have you done that to, Lago?

Be honest now, you are amongst friends.
