Need Prayers for my grand daughter (33)
kitty01: Holly is 3 years old and will be 4 in a couple of months. She is the one who has the sleep problems. She was having a bunch of blood test done before her medication was changed for her sleep.
We found out today that her white blood count and iron count are very low but her cholesterol count is very high. The doctor thinks she might have leukemia. She is going back to her pediatrician tomorrow and will likely need more test to be sure. I hope it is from some thing else.

Just hope that the test they will have to do will not be too painful or that her doctor will think it is something else that is wrong.

I'm so sorry to hear this. My daughter's white count has been low for many, many years. She has been through every test you can think of to find out why, but haven't found anything definitive. It's the same thing with her blood pressure, it's extremly low. I also think she is anemic. The only thing we see happening all the time is that she gets a lot of colds. She is very fit, exercises, and watches her weight.
I wouldn't panic too soon. Better for her count to be low than too high. That would mean her body is fighting infection.

I know how hard this can be on a parent or grandparent. My little had to have three blood transfusions as well as blood checks every month till she was six months old. Thankfully she got over those health issues. I am praying that your grandaughters problems with be nothing major.

I just hope it is nothing to do with any diseases that she could get from her father's side as he was from Africa and died last summer. We do not know what he died of.

He was on a visa to go to school here from Africa. I know it was from one of those poor places they show on t.v. We do not know what health problems he had. His mother and family is still in Africa.
Tammy has low red blood count but then so do I, but that is all.
