Paradox67: I just started researching the Taino history a little deeper in the past couple of months. I realized their origin a few years ago while talking to a friend.
Fascinating people, it was a Jamaican friend who introduced me to the culture. I've had the priveledge of digging up some of their artifacts.
Paradox67: I believe you and think that is great. But I hear people on both sides saying that they can't meet anyone and I don't think that is true. We can meet anyone if we choose to. So the real question is what do people really want? The only way to get to the truth is to be honest and open with answers.
What's the worse that could happen. A woman might say she is not attracted to me or that I dress like a slob? I guarantee that I have many qualities that they have not considered. And that is their right. I'm not complaining. Everyone has their own preferences.
It's wonderful when somebody makes a real effort and sacrifice to meet you.......... my girlfriend/fiancee/whatever has booked ahead FOUR flights to visit me, and to me that proves some kind of commitment - especially as she gets no paid vacation!
Ok, so I booked ahead three flights (easier for me in many ways as I just have to find somebody to look after my paralysed mother when I am away) but knowing the other person is prepared to make a real effort around their work and commitments with family and friends is a good feeling, and a sense of stability and security in a relationship rather than worrying about what the future may or may not bring and if you'll ever meet again!
