rubyruby: They wont ever acknowledge obamas done anything right.

I see none of them have even up the point i made about the bowing episode, because they were wrong.
Surprise surprise

So Rubyruby,

I got curious about this protocol issue and looked into it. Apparently YOU were wrong:

From Miss Manners, Washington Post

Dear Miss Manners:

What should an American president do when he greets a foreign head of state? What about his wife? And would that be any different from an average American citizen greeting a foreign head of state?

A handshake and "How do you do?" seem appropriate everywhere, but what about curtsies, head nods and genuflecting? Is a bend at the waist considered different from a bent knee? If anyone can have a final say on this, I believe it would be you.

"Final say? If only that were true. Miss Manners has now watched at least half a dozen administrations get this wrong. They go to one extreme or the other, behaving like other presidents' buddies or like monarchs' subjects.

Where is the Office of Protocol, for goodness' sake?

Yes, yes, Americans pride ourselves on being warm and open and spontaneous. But heads of state are the symbolic embodiments of their countries, and the greeting gesture is itself symbolic. If they improvise mistakenly, they can expect a spontaneous outburst of American disdain.
ad_icon

The American greeting routine used to be simple. Because we officially consider all people to be equal and equally worthy of respect, the same gesture, the handshake -- simple, dignified and egalitarian -- would do for all.

We knew it wasn't universal, but it was our way. We felt superior to people who had to bow down to their leaders. And we found it side-splitting to watch news footage of French generals bestowing kisses on their soldiers when they gave out medals."......
....."But symbolic subservience to a foreign ruler is worse. When Miss Manners sees American citizens delighting in bowing or curtseying to royalty, she tries to remind herself that they are just being silly, not treasonous. When an American official does it, we can only hope it was because he was noticing that his own shoelace was undone -- and not that he recognizes the divine right of kings in general, or the authority over us of that king in particular."

So.... There you go.

BTW, I do not hate Obama, (or whatever his real name is), but I do have real disdain and contempt for his Ideology. Other than that, I see him as just another flawed individual like all of us.

No..they vote for those willing to protect our country. How do they usually vote in Australia?

southtc: As an Obama homer, we are not surprised.

Back to what we were talking about, I'm still waiting since you decided to take up my challenge. Here's a few things for you to start with:

"Obama's approval rating as of today is at an all time low of 46%, his (our) projected deficit is over $9 trillion dollars and rising, Obamacare is going down in flames, "Cash For Clunkers" ended up as "Cash For Foreign Auto Makers", Government Motors (GM) is working on a deal to make cars in China for sale here, the list goes on and on and on.

And, polls show Harry Reid losing to not one, but all of his opponents in the next election, the pending first victim of Obama's incompetency with many more to come."Dispute them if you can, and make sure to provide verifiable examples. I don't want your opinions. I've already heard enough of those.

Ok..with all due respect...pretty much everything I have stated today is verifiable fact. I put forth minimal opinion...and when I did it was backed up by fact. Polls are very inconclusive and if you got your poll from Fox News...I will dismiss it. I am sure you have links to all the verifiable facts stated above? Everyone knows the deficit is HUGE and its gonna get worse, before it gets better!! So far it looks as though Cash for clunkers was a success for business owners and I will agree that foreign auto makers also came out with their fair share, but I haven't seen any actual results. I read that the final numbers were still being assessed? Can you send me the link that shows it is a failure?

No, I don't think so RR. Buckingham does not write protocol for the United States. We write our own.

We are not subservient to any Monarch, that is what the American Revolution was all about.

See?

I don't read Fox News or watch Fox News Channel, so don't lean on that liberal crutch.

I don't see anything here but your opinion...again. I expected no less.

So, only 30% strongly approve. 41% strongly disapprove, and the other 29% do not have an opinion.

Your in the 30%, pretty small group.

Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll. 46%

"Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. That’s the lowest level of total approval yet measured for Obama."

Keep in mind during the elections, Rasmussen was consider by all political parties, including the Democrats, the most accurate of all the pollsters. They were very happy with the high numbers Obama was getting from their polls.

Keep propping up your failing president. He needs it.

It's amazing that they're proud that he has only dropped about 25 to 30 points since January. Talking about last gasps.

First off, I'm an independent and support whatever keeps our country safe. I could care less about politics but unfortunately our country is run by career politicians and not regular American citizens.

Ok...in response to your lengthy post to me....Chill Out!! I am not even going to pretend to know what you went through in Iraq. i appreciate your service to this country. I really do! I also know we should have never been there! Neither you or I know the real facts behind the war! I apologize if I offended you. I was offended when you attacked ivaski, telling him you could tell he never took an oath to serve this country. You do not have to be in the military to serve or uphold the constitution!! That's all I was sayin jeeeez cheers

You're right about that. I didn't want to mention how Bush's approval ratings were higher for the same time period for fear of sending them into an apoplectic fit. Oops, I guess I just did. grin

No...with a few exceptions..your list is bogus. How has he capped executives pay and why is that a good thing? How has he weather stripped a million homes a year? How has he saved homes from foreclosure when even huffpo says his policies helped less than 6%...you are wrong ..sorry.. have some soup

McCains numbers would have been in the toilet too! Any Prez coming in had huge overwhelming challenges and tough decisions to make! The numbers will go back up!

One thing about being a Human being is that you have the ability to take in information,Process it then make an inteligent Decision. The more Correct information we have the better we can process it. I was not for Obama in the Election .then I said he is our President give his a chance . As I see all the things he has done and said . I have processed all the accurate info I can find and Have determined A Head of cabbage would do a better Job then Mr Obama. I just Hope whoever comes after him can straighten out all the mess he has created .
