lookin4ubabe: His popularity is in decline because he had to make some tough decisions and changes and the Republicans have a huge smear campaign going!! Luckily, he doesn't care about popularity and he is just doing his job. I think we will see the numbers increase when the actual progress can be gauged. JMO

Obama DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HIS POPULARITY???

THAT IS ALL HE CARES ABOUT!!

HE HAS NEVER STOPPED CAMPAIGNING.

HE LUSTS FOR POWER.

And, the Democrats did not have a huge smear campaign going on against the last administration??

GEEEEEEs.

You are UNREAL.

lights: Saudi Arabia has been extremely duplicitous in their handling of Al Quaida. I guess you forgot that most all of the September 11 bombers came from Saudi Arabia. In addition, the government, for years turned a blind eye towards madrassas that taught and supported, financially and otherwise, radical Islam. That is until the fanatics targeted the House of Saud, Then that corrupt government began going after the Wahabbis and other Jihadist Muslims with a vengance. How about that.

OBAMA SHOULD NEVER HAVE BOWED TO A KING OF SAUDI ARABIA, ESPECIALLY IF YOU KNEW THE HISTORY OF SAUDI ARABIA AND ISLAMIC TERRORISM.

They smile at you and stick a knife in your back when you turn.

I am not too lazy to look up the number of people in the United States that identify themselves as Christian, it is 76.5%.

You confuse the government and the people. The government is not Christian like for instance, the government of Spain is officially Catholic, but the people of the United States are by far Christian. And I know all about the separation of Church and state, which is not in the constitution or Bill of Rights. It basically is covered in the 1st amendment, freedom of religion. And the vast majority of Americans enjoy their freedom of religion as Christians. Therefore, in that regard, we are Christian country.

Simple.

Correct me if I am wrong, but prior to 9/11 Saudi Arabia had been a pro-Western force during the Cold War and had hosted large coalition armies during the 1991 Gulf War. It was also one of the first countries to sign on to the anti-terrorism campaign after 9/11..no? Anyway, be that as it may, Obama is being diplomatic and putting the past behind us and nurturing new relationships. I don't see anything wrong with that.

lights: Don't be too sure it is conservatives that are disconnected from reality.

Conservatives are usually the ones paying the taxes.

Conservatives know reality.

Yes, and reality is obviously tough for you to take!! Hopefully, you will be able to get used to "reality" in the next 8 years..cuz Obama isn't going anywhere!!

You know what Duplicitous means?

It means double-dealing, cunning and deceptive, hypocritical.

Sure on the surface they appear to support us. We are probably their biggest customer.

But behind the scenes, the Saudi government supported radical Islam.

That should be fairly obvious. Saudi Arabia is home to Wahhabism, probably the most radical and intolerant strain of Islam in the world. And Saudi Arabia exported it for years.

That happens with both parties--Democrats and Republicans will try to smear the other at any given chance. Two wrongs don't make it right and neither does pointing out one without including the other.

But I do hope you are right with what you said in your last sentence. Seriously.

When it comes to the well being of American citizens, I do not wish for any President to fail. But I will not sit idle if or when they do fail.

I do NOT vote for the politial party. I vote for the person I feel is most qualified for the job to represent this country.

Any President would be doing the same thing, this is a time for action and these things need to be done, the money needs to be spent in order to strengthen our nation. Energy, health care, expanded foreclosure programs, expanded loan programs for small businesses, financial aid for college and yes, the list goes on! These are all programs that are vital to restoring a healthy, secure and stable country that can compete in the global market. It just makes so much sense...I don't understand why you guys don't get it...but what eva!

I agree, both parties are guilty of smear campaigns. But.. I was referring to the reason for Obama's decline in numbers and I think that was part of it. I hope Obama succeeds as President, but I am not blind to the issues that are important to me and if he screws up..I will be the first to admit it. I too am not as interested in a "party" as much as I am interested in the right person for the job!! cheers

Ya know, you need to realize that the government doesn't create wealth, generally speaking. The private sector normally and most often creates wealth.

What this administration and this congress are doing is borrowing against the future. In a HUGE, MAMMOTH, and foolish way.

They are putting generations of future Americans in debt, and risking the long term health of the US economy.

It was dumb liberal policies regarding home ownership, (Bareny Frank) that is largely to blame for putting our economy in the tank anyway.

Hmmm...none of the programs I mentioned are designed to create wealth. On the contrary the programs are giving the private sector the tools necessary to restore economic growth. As far as the economy goes...there is plenty of blame to go around. Gaining energy independence is a huge step in reducing our dependency on foreign oil and creating new jobs. Yes, we are borrowing huge amounts of money, but I think we will see a decrease in the deficit by the beginning of his second term.

I don't know of an American president, other than Obama, bowing to anyone actually.

I recall them usually greeting with a handshake.
