reconmarine: I can tell that you were never in the military or gave an oath to uphold the constitution of the United States and protect her from ALL enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC.
I retired from the Marine Corps after 31 years in November 2008 and it sickens me to see that there are people who actually support this so called president destroying this country and making a mockery of every man and woman who shed their blood defending their country. If you're looking for a hand out, there are many other countries willing to do so.
As fun as this was fella's and it was fun!!! I need to get off this computer!! Thanks for the kind, and not so kind words, I know some of us will never see eye to eye, we come from different worlds and experiences...but that's all good...cuz that's America!!
lookin4ubabe: McCains numbers would have been in the toilet too! Any Prez coming in had huge overwhelming challenges and tough decisions to make! The numbers will go back up!
Don't just judge by what someone say's or a party say's go up and check out the things he is doing then make a decision based on the information . I chalange you though to go to all the sources and get the info not just Demicratic or repubiclan or agenda controled . He was handed a big problem but when you read the information by the experts they say it has been handeled very badly. Now if you had a sworn enemy and I went to them representing you and told them That you were arogant obnoxious and felt that you were better than then what would you think .
lookin4ubabe: First off, I'm an independent and support whatever keeps our country safe. I could care less about politics but unfortunately our country is run by career politicians and not regular American citizens.
Ok...in response to your lengthy post to me....Chill Out!! I am not even going to pretend to know what you went through in Iraq. i appreciate your service to this country. I really do! I also know we should have never been there! Neither you or I know the real facts behind the war! I apologize if I offended you. I was offended when you attacked ivaski, telling him you could tell he never took an oath to serve this country. You do not have to be in the military to serve or uphold the constitution!! That's all I was sayin jeeeez
I'm not attacking anyone. Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinions. I appreciate your response but you didn't offend me. I just find it difficult to understand people saying they believe in the constitution when it is being ignored and chipped away every single day. I have seen what not having freedom is and I don't want it and I doubt that you do either. I guess when you're gone for so long and come home and don't even recognize your country any longer it is a cause for concern. Our country is heading in a very dangerous direction and one thing I am sure about is that millions of Americans will not stand aside and allow this to happen.
As for Obama being overwhelmed since taking office...he knew exactly what he was getting into when he took the job. I get tired of him blaming the previous administration whenever his policies fail and they will continue to fail. He's the boss now and he needs to act like one.
Please....I know he knew full well what he was getting into...I was just saying that ANY Prez. would have been overwhelmed! It's a fricken heavy load...for anyone!! He has only been in office for 6 months.......too soon to REALLY judge his achievements or failures...I, for one will give him a chance. Just like I gave Bush and every other Prez we have had!

I have never been one to follow a crowd!! I have gained my information through many sources, not guided by a party or individual! I will continue to make my decisions on my own research..

Look..we can go back and forth about your understanding of some largely insignificant promises kept and polls and all that...My question was how is our country better? Go back if you please (and I know you don't) to the 2006 election cycle where Dems were promising us the world once they had majority. When they won and did nothing but continue to lose americans' approval suddenly it was still everyone else's fault.
Obama is falling on his face across the board from the economy (unemployment in particular), the war(s), health care reform and those are just the biggies. He is choosing a model of government that has zero historical success and evidence of failure galore. This is my earlier point about CA. How messed up does a state as gorgeous as CA have to be to be hemorrhaging businesses to a nearby DESERT. This is what Obama wants for our country.
I own a small business...I can easily outsource 1/2 my workforce but have not for sense of duty to country and community. Still...I am a single dad trying to support 3 little boys..the second I get taxed more for healthcare or other I am starting the layoffs...and there are MILLIONS more just like me.

You are completely ignoring the writing on the wall? Do you have kids? and if so..when did you stop caring about them?

Please, allow me the privilege of having one look at your crystal ball? I want to see the source of your implications so that I may feel inclined to agree with them.

I'm sure that any president would have been overwhelmed however I doubt that most of them would have bankrupted the country in 7 months and tried to shove socialism down our throats. You say you do alot of research. Perhaps you should research several of the so called "advisers" Obama has hired and bypassed our constitution with them. I think you will be shocked at their backgrounds.
The promises he kept IMO did make the country better, so I did answer your question...extensively. Like I said earlier, different life experiences and different value systems influence our choices. What is important to you may not be as important to me.
I woke up one morning paralyzed.....I made too much money to qualify for assistance, but yet didn't make enough to get a decent health care plan. 100,000 dollars later...I lost everything. This is why I support Universal Health Care!
I was diagnosed with MS..... Which is why I support stem cell research (BTW...im fine now...in remission 10 years)
I am a full time student....which is why I support expanded financial aid with creative repayment plans for loans.
and the list goes on and on!! There really is no right or wrong here, it's really all about perspective. I believe Obama is doing the best he can, he is not perfect, but he is the person I voted for and the person I will support because he cares about the issues that are important to me. My only alternative was to vote for someone who didn't care about any of those things!!

I am grateful for your service. I am raising my boys to understand your sacrifice along with that of all our serviceman and know the respect and gratitude it deserves.
The modern liberal has no idea what freedom really is nor the sacrifices made for them to have it. In large part they hold the military in disdain and...in reply to your post, have no interest in edifying themselves in matters that do not support their unsubstantiated THEORIES.

Hang in there Rep's only 8 more years!!
That's nice too ! Need any help Babe ? ( looks like you're doin great all alone )
you do realize I have been at this since last night!!! Posting on a similar thread! It is like a drug....I am soooooo outnumbered here, but I just can't stop!!

Sounds to me like you just want stuff given to you w/o any concern for the consequences..not just to others but even yourself. What if you got all that stuff..then like California we go bankrupt and all your services get cut...now with a crippled or nonexistent private plan, smaller doc to patient ratio, what are you going to do?
