Front my question - most Americans dont know where the White House is? Is that so?

Englishman55: Thats just the point Petal.... the rest of the world does have a life and is getting a grip of America, and how strange it is that the Americans don't like it anymore, so invade Iraq, then lets look at Iran next, forget Afghanistan, Cuba and Vietnam, but Get a grip .... the rest of the world !!

OK, fine...

I guess the next time we have to fight for our oil rights and our general energy rights, we will leave it to the French and Italian troops, shall we?

God Almighty..

Englishman55: Hi Jamo,
Contrary to what you might read with what I have posted here tonight, I do not hate Americans either, I just wish they would come out of their insular shells that allow them to think they have won every war since 1812 !!! without the help of allies !!!

The Americans I have met here in Europe have always started an introduction by saying they are not like most Americans and they are quite ashamed to intoduce themselves as such.

What I have found, is that these Americans actually have an open mind about the rest of the world and want to explore it, which is why I have met them in Europe.

The rest just seem to want to stay in America, slag the rest of the world off for not being gratefull, and try to figure out where Europe is and why the rest of the world is not grateful for them winning every war single handedly. So don't be surprised that NZ and Aus does not come into the reckoning !!

JMHO

I have one thing to say here. I'm proud to be an American!! I used to want to come visit different countries, but since I have been ready the forums, I think I will stay at home. I don't want to meet the people that spew this crap.

Most of the people in America that I talk to don't think that we claim to have did it all ourselves. We recognize that our allies had just as much a part in helping us.

Now...I'll just go back to my party!

Of course Petal.... I know nothing about the States, only what I hear from the Americans I meet, from what they say, from what their Government says and from what they do for the rest of the world.

Of course, I bow to your superior knowledge as someone who has only moved there recently, from Europe, having just met and married an American, and spends all her time on a "dating Site" now telling us sad and lonely idiots the way it should be......

"Rose Tinted Glasses"..... or is it "Love Is Blind".

Whatever it is I am sure you are so happy with that, but please don't try and gang up up on me with Jesse, because you think your opinion is the only one to be heard.

Doesn't America have an amendment in their constitution about that.... "Freedom Of Speach".... !!

In Europe, we have something similar.... or had you forgotten !!

Really...

well, I have to say, from reading this thread, that the most insular, xenoaphobic and insecure countries are the ones that bash the US.

Thats not my opinion, thats from reading this thread.

Do you really think that the quote "Americans are awsome" was serious? Do you realy think that most Americans think they are invicible? Do you really think that Americans think they are "dictators of world policy"?? Because if you do, you are just another victim of the world's propaganda.

It aint true, my friend. Its just another example of one entity envying another's influence..

That, unfortunately, is human nature, and one that we have to embrace, or if not, face the consequences of not..

I find that very offensive, actually. As one who has travelled quite alot, spent time in the US prior to "being on a dating site", having a sister who has lived in the States for over 10 years, as one who has is an intelligent and unlike some, base their opinions on what they have experienced OUTSIDE CS, I would say, without much hesitation - BITE ME..

So, whats this from Michael, in Texas (I think it was page four)
WWI and WWII... we never asked for the job of "saving the world", it rather got handed to us.

If you think you (or China or whoever) can do it better then by all means go for it! I wouldn't complain a bit... saving the world is bloody and expensive and thankless! I'd be most happy to go back to the isolationist ideas of the 1930's when Americans wanted no part in foreign wars ever again.

- Michael ("American by birth, Texan by the Grace of God!")

Maybe you should read all the posts. !

I would like to make special mention of the fuzzy wuzzy people helping the Aussies to save Australia from a land invasion by Japan.

You find my opinion offensive.... oh dear, and the fact that both you and Jesse have a jaundiced opinion that you wish to push on me by "ganging up" has nothing to do with it, I suppose.

Have fun with your games, now that you are married and still hanging around on a "Dating Site"
Shouldn't you be off doing something better with your life than the sad singles here on CS ??

How about we forget all the labels, i,e. Americans, whatever, and work together harmoniously for a common cause to help all humanity instead of trying to dominate each other. Unless one man wants to be dominated, any applicant?
