SAXONNUMBER1: What's your views on America and Americans? Are they the worlds savior or not! Will they maintrain their military dominance or will China become a force to be reckoned with?
Like any culture, you can enjoy the cultute, food, climate, but the second you call somebody an American and say stuff like,''Oh,I know whay you're like....you're an American!!!'' ....I know they usually feel insulted, because you're putting a label on the person(An American).. and not seiing the person as an individual, and your perception of them is clouded by the label.

rizlared: So why is it called the world series when no-one outside of America plays it??
According to Wikipedia, the World Series began in 1903 with teams from Canada and the US (mostly US). Think about the world stage at that point. America was not a superpower. America did not have the type of role or position in world events it does now. The only countries at that time that played baseball were the US and Canada, so to them, the playing of baseball in their world was the international setting of Canada and the US. Putting it into perspective, that is why they called it the World Series. The name just didn't change as times changed and the place of the US on the world stage changed. Now, it is a name that is so thoroughly ingrained in American culture, it would be pretty hard to change. In addition, now other countries such as Japan and Latin American countries play and may be, in future, included in the 'World Series.'
Englishman55: Not at all.... when Americans decide to leave their insular shores and go explore the rest of the world, without a rifle in the their hands, looking for yet another scarce world resource to plunder, then they may see a beautifull world.
They may also see that people who live in other parts of the world are just like they are..... human !!
There is in part a valid point to this: actually only 10% of Americans even have a passport, so the vast majority of Americans do not travel outside of North America. The news in America very much reflects the American viewpoint on the world. Americans don't know as much as they could/should about the rest of the world.
However, the idea that America is or has been the only plunderer of the world's resources reflects quite a lack of historical vision. Especially those who call Britain home, I think, should remain aware of the plundering around the world that was done by the British Empire (The sun never sets on the British Empire...remember?) which ended not so many years ago, in the framework of time. So, it is a lot of the pot calling the kettle black to point fingers at the US as far as using power, violence and muscle to subdue and plunder other parts of the world. In fact, many of the problems on the world stage today ar a result of European colonization which took place over the past few centuries.

Praise the Lord for small mercies!
I've noticed that even poor Europeans get to travel a lot more than your average US citizen (unless he/she joins the military).
Just think before the recession that it was estimated that by 2016 or 2020 that over 200 MILLION Chinese tourists will be travelling outside China every year!

The Brits put the ideas into American minds and the idiots fall for it
Sojourner: Do you have any idea at all of the irony of this statment coming from a Brit? Or any European?
Possession is 9/10ths of the law.
In Africa the strongest tribe has always ruled; for many years some white tribes ruled - get over it..... Africa, Europe, the whole world........... we have NEVER been peace-loving creatures all innocent and lovey-dovey until some evil invader came along.
Human are vicious cruel animals - no need to differentiate by false borders that are man-made anyway!
