-responding to trish123's post-

The important thing to remember here is first that your posts are taken out of context from the entirety of what was actually being spoken. Second this was the old law thousands of years ago. It is not this way anymore. There were reasons behind those things. Back then it was a brutal world. My guess is that those laws were nothing compared to other places and their laws. Remember Jesus telling the people that whoever among them who was without sin should cast the first stone. All of the womans accusers walked away. I think there was some neccesity to deal with immorality in a harsh way at that point in history. Is it possible that because of the natrue of the world back then that not responding harshly to immorality would have lead to many more deaths by disease and or murder from the offended parties? To judge those times by todays standards I think is a mistake, for we weren't there. Obviously there was a great need for law and order back then. Maybe the world was so brutal and chaotic that extreme action of some kind had to be taken in order to have any kind of orderly society.

Prove that God said that.... The book was written by a man... to prove whatever man wants to prove to control the weaker masses.

Stop quoting the bible and give some proof !

any and all sin even in todays society carries the death sentance. Not by men, (thank god), but by the nature of the universe itself. Although we dont always die right away for our misdeeds. Consider someone robbing anothers house. It has happened before that that thief has been shot while in the process. Consider lies, people have been killed and or caused the death of others through the effect of thier own lies. The wages of sin is death. You play with sin (even little white lies) you are risking your very life. The consequences of our actions are real and if the worst happens to us, how can we say that we didnt merit it?

I say there is no god and I am not a fool, neither am I a bad person, go tell it to the voluntary organisations I worked for over the years and see what they have to say - you make less sense than your book does.........

I would love to have some of the stuff John smoked on Patmos!rolling on the floor laughing

Point of interest: Amanita muscaria mushrooms have been used for their psychoactive and hallucinogenic qualities since ancient times. They grow wild in great quantities on the island of Patmos in Greece, home of John, the author of the Book of Revelation, which is absolutely the trippiest book of the Bible.

No coincidence there, I don't imagine.

Yes, lets consider lies.... it could be said that when someone makes up a story with no factual basis, they can deemed to be a Liar.

No-one has yet come up with any proof that your or any other God exists.... so it could be said that every relious leader is a liar !

You do imagine. Can you prove that or are you just saying that based on your own personal pessimism? I mean, there have been many people who have had visions/encounters with God where no kind of mushroom grew. Furthermore if mushrooms were involved it wouldnt neccesarily debunk anything written in revelations anyway. Why do you suppose that someone who took mushrooms coulnt have any real insight? Just cause you dont believe it? You know as well as I do that what YOU believe doesn't neccesarilly make your opinions correct.
