Odysseus101: China has announced a series of moves against the US in retaliation for a proposed weapons sale to Taiwan worth $6.4bn (£4bn).
I just wonder how America would react if China sold high-tech rockets to Cuba. That was the Bay of Pigs. Is this the Bay of Noodles?
What's your opinion?
The US has told China that Taiwan purchased all their weapons from the Matel Toy Company because as everyone knows the Pentagon owns Toys R US . It is called 'Plausible deniability'...
the world leaders are just gonna get us all nuked sooner or later . it's like a bunch of children that know what they are doing is wrong but they do it anyway .
Maybe President Obama had a problem making the first installment payment on the $765b that the Chinese loaned him. So he sells weapons to Taiwan to cover the first installment. Thinking that the Chinese were docile and peace loving.....and not military adventuresome when it came to Taiwan.
Opps, wrong answer.......scratch that far east political advisor from the White House advisory team.
But has anyone picked up that President Obama might be sending Bill Clinton back to NKorea sometime soon? Seems we have another stray American that crossed into NKorea from China.
I wonder if this time Bill is going to ask to see Kim's birth certificate and do a finger print check on him...to see if he is taking pic with the real Kim.
Then again, with NKorea loobing artillery shells toward the south. I bet President Clinton does not make this trip anytime soon. So President Obama is going to be forced to use the Chinese to get the man out. I suspect he is going to be there for a long, long time.
It is highly probable that shortly after delivery, the weapons will be declared unsafe to use because they have been painted in lead-based paints, and, having been manufactured in China, will be recalled there for repairs. Then China will just keep them.
Antjo39: Serious, Do you know if the weapons are made in China? In that case the Chinese only have to sell the weapons themselves.
My opinion is that China will fix this little cheeky errand boy soon. Just have to squeeze a bit further and kaput!!!
Sorry to blow your bubble, Antjo. I looked at the list of weapons sold. All were made in the usa....some might have components from foreign countries in them. But good old USA was stamped on the outside.

Well the software to run them...might be pirated from China, Solitatre. Oh sorry that is what the Chinese do to American software programs, CDs and DvDs....getting confused here again.

The bubble is in your imagination because I was just joking. I know some industries are still on your soil. That was exactly my point when I talked about the little cheeky errand boy. Not Taiwan but the Good Old Uncle Sam. Those are the cycles in history, but maybe in 10000 years the US will be the boss again.
bohdiprana: Is there a shortage of good ole brain food in america.
What is the matter, Bohdiprana...you going to let a little country like China intimidate you? You got to know that we "don't quit", this according to Nancy Pelosi....No. 3 in the USA Gov't.

Ha! cheeky, cheeky....nothing is measured with military power, ability to invade countries or being an international roughneck... CHinese leaders discovered that long ago and have worked patiently for that... and the results are getting more and more visible... They do not need to intimidate US-style... they just buy your life with money and become your masters...

At least for $6.4b dollar worth of weapons....including if you did not notice two anti mine ships. Funny thing is....that as bad as the economy has gotten here. Ship building... military, commercial and pleasure vessels building has stay solid.
As long as we can build ships my good friend....we can control or at least contend on the oceans with other nations. That is 1/2 the battle.

Hey no problem...I got the Chinese figured out. I listened to the audio book "Art of War". I got all the inside stuff on them.
