Antjo39: By using your logic, Taiwan should be crushed...sorry "won" by the Chinese giant. If one imperialism has right to exist...then the others too. That is from the point of view of mere logic. Yes, but I know your logic works up to the point where your prejudices and bigotry tell you: "STOP" Then you can criticise China's agressive policies while glorifying the "achievements" of the US policy. It is just double standards and cynism.
Difference is that China would never leave if the conquered Taiwan and would take away the hard-won democracy the Taiwanese people now enjoy.

cmc123: I was in Taiwan when the first democratic presidential election was held there. And when China sent a missile over Taiwanese airspace to intimidate the Taiwanese electorate (& which had the opposite effect) I was so happy when the American 7th fleet sailed down the Taiwan Straits and sent the Chinese fleet away. And I'm not American nor particularly militaristic.

The amazing irony is that weapons become this enjoyment.
StressFree: Bohdiprana, why do you like to kiss men? Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I get mixed signals here man. I thought only southern and eastern European men kiss each other when they greet and say goodbye?
The reason is that Bohdi lives in the Greek town in London....
Knowing that the US absolutely has to borrow a billion dollars from China every single day just to prevent an immediate collapse of the US economy, I'd say that this story is nothing but a "red herring".
It's all just political posturing for public opinion. It reinforces the fantasy that the US can defy China's wishes whenever it chooses to do so.
If China was really "furious" about the sale, all they'd have to do would be to stop buying any US T-bills and the US would come begging on bended knee.
In fact, the US would invade or nuke Taiwan herself if China insisted.
Money still talks.
All of the nations involved benefit from the imagined "conflict" and the arms sales it generates.
Antjo39: For sure son, and that is an indication of something big brewing....want to get them pissed off?? Switzerland is in the list for sure...

All the nations do not benefit from this situation. There are many conspiracy theories similar to yours, but they are all based on fear and bitterness, not on reality.
The USA can choose the course it wants. China does hold a lot of American currency and investments, but it is not in their interest 'to stop buying US T-bills.' This would cause huge problems for China as well.
I hope, and believe, that the US would never do this. This is really quite a strange statement, and I think you have nothing to support this.
