Yikes! I really noticed the fact that Many Americans carry guns when I was living there. And the fact that they are so blaise about it. As a Canadian it was a real culture shock.

Look, our country is not very old. When those brave people got on those boats and crossed the ocean to get here, we didn't have any laws in place. No policemen, firefighters, constitution, laws, NOTHING. We learned to carry guns, mostly for food and also for protection. It's the way we have been raised for generations.
It's doesn't make us bad, we had too. Believe you me, we have respect for those guns too, unlike the thug on the street.

SummerUK: I dont think for one moment that everyone in the UK thinks Everyone in the states walks around with guns tucked in their trousers. We're really not that stupid and just because you can't see them doesn't mean they don't have one.
I had a couple of extremely horrible, very traumatic moments in the states which were actually Gun related. You can't deny that some people do hide them on their person.
However, after spending a lot of my time in very remote areas of the south, I would definately have a gun even just to keep safe from the wild animals. I would even go so far as to say it would be very silly not to own a gun for your own protection.

Summer, I don't for a minute, think people from the UK are stupid, and it's true a person could be carrying a gun where it can't be easily seen.
