In response to: I have been on this site for just over 12 months, I have met some truely fantastic folk from around the world in that time who have ended up really good friends.... I have also encountered some "Negative" folk who are nice people, but,.. hard as I try in talking to these people and trying to help them with lifes problems, cant help but feel there are some folk who seem to be happy in the"downside" of life. What say you????. I am a "Positive Woman" and feel there are some people who really just want to live in a Whoa is me situation......
am a complete positive guy with all the negativities in my life...not worried about the past or future but only know to enjoy the present

Serioiusly though, some people's life experiences through childhood have left them ill equipped for life and fearful of other people. They are not capable of an optimistic outlook till they take their past out and look at it.
For many this is just too frightening a prospect, their subconscious will not let them in or anyone else for that matter.
It is very frightening to throw out the bill of goods you were sold as a life principle and replace it with something else. How do you repair yourself with a sick brain.
Lack of power, not lack of knowledge seems to be the problem.
Serioiusly though, some people's life experiences through childhood have left them ill equipped for life and fearful of other people. They are not capable of an optimistic outlook till they take their past out and look at it.
For many this is just too frightening a prospect, their subconscious will not let them in or anyone else for that matter.
It is very frightening to throw out the bill of goods you were sold as a life principle and replace it with something else. How do you repair yourself with a sick brain.

Unawareness is the death of the soul.Sometimes people like to think they're gonna miraculously say something that will make somebody WANT TO BE POSITIVE...reality is....you can't.
I don't waste my breath on negative people...people who want to stay miserable...I say f.uck them...let them drown in their own pity pot.
What a waste of time and energy...I'd much rather spend my time on helping somebody who is trying..to work on life's problems,somebody who wants it.

.. good post, I know what you mean about the overly obsessive positive ones, it can start to sound like a religious mantra ..... who are they really trying to convince or impress ? And it's those exact people,that you refuse to play into their games,that try to bring you down the most..because they enjoy too much being negative,and are too proud to say..'What did you do to find a little joy and happiness in your life`?'
They're too proud..so they try to destroy your character instead,and the reality is if YOU DON'T BREAK away from these negative people..you'll become negative too.

I too take a realistic approach to life.
I'm totally honest with myself... which means I see both the negative side and positive side of whatever situation I may be in or the challenges that face me. Most days I do feel positive, but... There are days that I feel really down, and I allow myself to feel that instead of taking the bluepill and being a false Pollyanna living in Egypt (you know, in De-nial). The ability to laugh through the tears on a really bad day helps too.
I don't shun people who feel negative a lot of the time. Many of them have damn good reason to feel that way... and at least they aren't lying to themselves. Not everyone has managed to build the inner strength to find a way to digging themselves out of misery, but some will take a sincere helpful insight from a friend or even a wise stranger now and then... and maybe, just maybe, see a pinprick of light at the end of that oh so long dark tunnel. And then it's up to them to want it, now that they see that they might just be able to get it.

lilmamma71: It truly is very sad..those were the kind of wounded people I used to seek out, subconsciously, because I thought I could "fix" them. Sorry, but enough of being surrounded in negativity is a bad thing and there's no band-aid in the world big enough to fix that type of outlook and people are all flawed in some way, unless, living in a bubble and never experiencing real life..don't know how else to explain it.
I'm a realist and know life is not perfect, I accept my flaws and shortcomings and can live with myself. But, on the other hand, I also know from experience, life is not ideal and there are some people that truly enjoy being a beast of burden and carrying their demons w/ them and refuse to see how much better life can be by letting go of the stuff you can't control. To them, I have only pity and empathy.. and closed down my patch-and-bandaid-station long ago...
