A senior Prisons' Service official is quoted on the My Israel website as saying: "Whoever wants an easy matriculation certificate, just has to kill a Jew or carry out a terror attack. He will get his matriculation certificate at the expense of the Israeli taxpayer, until he is freed in the next prisoner deal."
) has been held incommunicado by Hamas since he was abducted in 2006.
Hamas treatment of its sole Israeli prisoner is barbaric: the organization does not honor international laws and accepted rules of warfare, and it does not allow Shalit visits of any kind.
Terrorist prisoners in Israel enjoy visits, television, newspapers and ball games. In addition, they are allowed to study for university degrees through Israel's Open University.
The law has been proposed in two versions, one by Likud MK Danny Danon, and the other by Likud MK Yariv Levin, MK Yisrael Hasson (Kadima) and MK Moshe Matalon (Israel is Our Home). It would deny terror prisoners their extra privileges at least until Shalit is released.
The bills has been put on hold at the request of the Prime Minister's Office, due to reported advances in the negotiations for Shalit.
The main reason for the current laxness vis-a-vis the terror prisoners is fear of a situation in which they riot violently.
Such a riot would have to be suppressed with force and could involve fatalities among the prisoners, leading to world condemnation, although foreign media and human rights organizations usually pay no attention to the atrocities that are rife in prisons in Arab countries.
Sources say that security personnel are convinced that they will wind up being put on trial if any such fatalities occur, due to pressure from leftist media and MK's, and therefore prefer to keep the terrorists satisfied with their conditions.

I am not sure which is worse - bragging about killing when killing has been done, or bragging when it hasn't. Another terrorist wannabe on this forum.

Antjo39: To all of you, smart bunch: I always say, that stuff you defend is all convenient intelligent-insulting rubbish. Come up with something more elaborate and prove you are able to defend better stuff, not just biased propaganda. Got to go... Hasta la vista baby.
Well Pip-Squeak, I know how hard this is for you to comprehend, being un-educated as you are and inherently stupid.
European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said “urgent progress” is needed toward Middle East peace as she began a visit to the region.
Ashton, who will be in Israel today and the West Bank tomorrow, said in an e-mailed statement ahead of her visit that “there is no alternative to a negotiated solution” between Israel and the Palestinians.
Ashton’s visit comes after Palestinian officials have said they would like to see the European Union take a more active role in their negotiations with Israel, which broke down in September.

Are you suggesting there is no bias within and from the EU itself - the organisation which is perhaps the most sorry venture into globalism modern humanity has?
And whom exactly are these ideologues and decadents that infest Brussels to think they have the right to order the world in accordance to their perception of events? Why have any respect for them?

With the grip Israel has on United States government with the purchased political positions etc. It's easy to understand why the Palestinian s would want to distance themselves from the "mediation" efforts . So lets hope with the EU we will see a renewed, accelerated participation by the international community.

The Hammas terrorists have a wonderful time in Israeli prisons.
