i think that could also be an evolutionary ploy..older women very often have higher status (better paid jobs, more assets, etc )..A younger man could sub-conscieniously be increasing his own status by being with an older woman..
I mean how many high status men do you see with older girlfriends/wives ?? V V rarely..
High Status men who usually have greater options with women v often have younger/much younger wives/gf

Maybe some...that want the steryotypical barbie doll...but others I think are maybe underconfident themselves and cant handle critism..even constructive so opt for someone that knows no better?

This may be explanation for it, but I could be wrong about it. It take guys quite a while settle down in life. It normally takes util their 30s or late 30s to achieve their life objectives if they have any objectives in life. By that time they might looking into settling down or starting a family, so more than likely they have a better chance of starting a family somebody younger than somebody their age. Around that age women are in their prime and guys starting exit their prime age. I think is more of a genetic order things.
Then women always prefer well established guys, which normally happen to be older than them. Pretty much rejecting candidates that are their age or younger.
Like I said this is just and explanation. I may be completely wrong about that. There are always exceptions to the rules.

Hi Sol I don't think too much more needs to be read into the subject, whatever works for the individual couple, whether both are relatively the same age, older woman younger dude, or vice versa, is all that matters. It's a matter of personal preference. What matters more is compatibility, and I'm leaving the money issue out of it. JMHO

No seriously I dont know the answer to your question although there are a few interesting replies. Personally I have to connect with a person morally , intellectually and no small amount of chemistry. I find Ladies my age most suited to that.
