See, that is the problem, (generally), equating shape with ability to please......... Women tend to see that age brings it's shapes changes, and just accept men anyway, but men have one pic in mind and don't deviate from wanting it, no matter how good the relationship could be with a woman with a few wrinkles, or well earned scars from life.

tomcatwarne: I don't think there is asumtion on the part of most men in this age group, in fact the first overtures usually come from the women. I think you may be surprised how many women prefer a man to be older and more mature. The same of course applies the other way around, it's really up to the people concerned, after all both ages are well into maturity, not impressionable kids. JMO
I would be extremely surprised to know how many women prefer older men. I have never known any women who prefer older man, none more than about 5 years older. Not only prefer them, as you say, but go after then, are the ones making the first move. It is very hard to believe unless the guy has money. I am 52 and hard pressed to find men my age physically attractive, the way they have let themselves go. Fortunately, I found one who is fit and healthy because I belong to an outdoors environmental club and met him there. But most men in their 50's are overweight and have all kinds of health problems. JeanMarlow: This is what I don't get, men in their late 50's and in their 60's just seem to assume a woman in her 40's is their 'age group' and that she should assume she should go out with them. Why? They are old enough or nearly old enough to be her father. Really delusional. Nothing wrong with a man in his 50's, 60's or older, especially if he has taken care of himself. But why they reject women their own age and assume women 10 and 15 years younger are their dating pool is beyond me. yeah,age seems to affect men and women differently..i did have a boyfriend,10 years older than me and i did feel the difference,even he was fit and good looking,not so active and different interests..

I suppose it is genetic in some way because it is a personality issue which I believe is genetic.
