Had my last kid at 41, wished I'd done it sooner as, what can I say, I'd of been freer sooner... sometimes life is just like that.. piss poor timing . But I got the whole grama thing and I can still outwalk the lazy sod, who's 19 going on 20 this year.
Just remember.... having kids is no walk in the park and it's not fair to push everything onto the younger mom either. Stand up and hold your own... or leave it be, there can be other ways to get a kid ya know... plenty of them in need. And you could enjoy them faster too.

I think there must have been plenty of young families that sent there kids to their grandparents and other extended family even myself as both my parents worked ,..so now I have all these life experiences and skills that I can teach to my children

Most are retiring by then, often with little pensio and no hope of a job at that age to raise kids with or put them through college.

Not sure I agree with all of this post Ginger. I´ve seen many men who are raising chidren the second time around much more responsibly and with more patience than they did as a young father.
Young fathers can, and often do, find fatherhood extremely difficult.
Anyway, as for why men go for much younger women, I think it´s a combination of things, the biological reasons already mentioned i.e. youth equals fertility, the fact that young women are more physically attractive in general, which sadly is of paramount importance to some men, and perhaps a fear of women their own age who are strong and independent.

Another thought--people seem to make a wide path and show the utmost respect for an older gentleman with a beautiful young, perfect ten girlfriend. As soon as older guys,who all of a sudden get filthy rich on the lottery, etc..., can, they get a young star quality girlfriend.
