Unfortunately .....We're ( USA ) too busy with shutting our government down, cutting all entitlements....medicare....Obamacare....social security....and all other broken budgets, and invading Libya .......to have time for Japan's disasters ......

We are not being slammed by earthquakes, nuclear disasters, flooding, horrific devastation beyond imagination. Lucky us, that we do have the luxury at this very moment to debate social security, Obamacare, medicare and entitlements.
These events happen constantly but their frequency is measured in decades or centuries or even longer. Hawaii is nothing more than a hole in the Pacific plate and as the plate moves the Hawiian islands are formed and are destroyed and sink beneath the sea. The sea floor Northwest of Hawaii is the remains of a string older Hawaiin islands which rose from the sea floor and weathered away and disappeared beneath the waves again. Honolulu will be under water in several 1000 years maybe 100,000 years. Japan could be subject to strong earthquakes for the next several years possibly even 100 years. It all depends on how much stress is built up and what is the frequency which nobody really knows.

These threads about various tragedies certainly bring out the worst in posters. A little more compassion is needed in this world rather than seeing things in blinkered and selfish views. Everyone in this world is suffering with cutbacks, job losses, etc., but we should spare thoughts for others far, far, more unfortunate than us.
My thoughts going out to all those suffering in these difficult days.

Thats right. The problems in the US are not unique, and quite frankly, old hat. The people of Japan have far worse things to worry about.

Duh, you should be concerned because of their Nuclear Power plants. You are of the type that can't give a dam about anyone except yourself. Congratulations on about the worse posts you have ever done, it's always me, me, me with you.
I have a friend who has friends who lives in Japan. He was so relieved his friends were ok with the first earthquake. He is going to be so upset. He was actually going to go there to try to help. He is an American and he gives a dam. I am glad to see so many in this thread have feelings for Japan. It hurts to know they are going through more pain.
