I have been on the Forums since January and through interaction and observation, it is evident that there are some profiles on here that are fake. It is also evident that several profiles are from the same person, pretending to be 2 or 3 different people. I am frankly embarrassed for them when they have both profiles up at the same time and pretend to be talking to one another. It is also obvious, by how one speaks and carries himself/herself, that he/she is not the age as stated on the profile, but much younger.
It is dumbfounding why someone does this, but I don't waste my energy or time on these person(s).

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about that one, that makes 2 definite - Donegal and Kilkenny, and two possibles - Galway and Wexford.

I've stopped sending an introductory letter or picture to ladies even if I think they are real peeps and they send me their email address (it's not possible to send a pic via the site email).
I found out that someone will always be so up themselves that they can't get their heads round friendship, even if they are on another landmass and there's absolutely no chance of dating
but I do realize that we all want to know who we are talking to, it's a pity that mostly it's the "unreal" entities that limit our willingness to present ourselves or communicate fully.It's a very similar sentiment to a thread I posted recently but you are much more eloquent and tactfull. thank you for posting.

70Libra: I've met about 100 or so people from here (at meets) that I can vouch for as being 'real' people. Whether their intentions are honourable or not is open to interpretation.

It is difficult to know who is "real" (with only one profile) and who is not, for both men and women.
What I see frequently is a new profile just pops up from nowhere saying "I am new" but in the way they write and express themselves it seems they have been here before or/and they have been reading people's postings.
Myself, it took me a few months to post, first I did not even notice there were forums and all those sections, still I do not go to them all.
I am real, I think!
