Excellent Post Patmac. China will not go to war until every last penny is paid back. They are making huge profits on interest alone. Why in the hell would China go to war? What difference does it make if they build a bunch of ships. The war is going to be in the middle east, and if China wants to, they can march on the middle east and no one could stop them anyway. So don't worry about it.
China has only gone beyond its recent borders twice. When it went into Tibet, which was probably the best thing that could have happened to Tibet to get them out of the dark ages and once into North Vietnam when it invited Jimmy Carter and the rest of America to fight North Vietnam with them. So, what makes you think China is an aggressor?
john12196341: china has missiles that can take out our aircraft carriers and other ships. if i was president i wouldn't get rid of our nukes and build up the military to defend agaist countries like that
no but asia will be in for it robbing ship etc.thats why the 7th fleet is there china said theyd attack it we told them nukes would follow they backed down.neutron bombs.u take out a carrier fire will follow soon.

john12196341: i was watching the news and it mentioned that the chinese are building aircraft carriers and other ships designed to take on ours and our interests in the pacific. this shoujd be considered a warning to this administration that the chinese pose a serious threat against us and should be dealt with by making our military especially our navy strong again.
Seeing that China lends money to the US every day just to keep the dollar afloat, don't you think it might be a bad idea to start an arms race with China. Who's gonna pay for it all?

I thought we already had a strong defense and military.Besides if we tick off China where would Wally world get all the goods.

galrads: True but In any case, China’s emergence has upset the status quo. Beijing’s actions, be they conciliatory or aggressive, will set the tone for the future, and hence the relationships between the United States and the other nations of the region.
Hm, the Japanese said they had peaceful reasons for building up their fleet and they certainly messed with everybody in their region. just saying. .... try and convince Japan, India and Vietnam that china arms buildup is peace oriented.
the only thing you should worry is USA goverment , cia, and the fed the rest of it is just plain old fearmorgering to put you in place where the owners want you to be

I have a lot of family members in the US military and friends and family in the Canadian military. The upshot, according to them, is that China is gearing up to have a go at North America, probably by going through both Mexico and Canada before launching an all-out offensive against the US.
The navy is focused on something I can't remember the name of off-hand, but it's something to do with a breakout scenario through the former Indochina. It's a complex scenario in which Japan and Korea play a part.
As you're no doubt aware, China has developed several new weapons that render the US's naval fleet obsolete, including aircraft-carrier-killer missiles, long-range high-speed rocket-propelled torpedoes, and an array of air-to-sea missiles that can take out destroyers and support craft.
It's the sheer quantity of armaments, troops, delivery-systems, ordnance, and so on, that should have competing countries keeping pace.
The US wisely used the kerfuffle with Korea to shift a large number of ships, nuclear submarines and nuclear bombers to the region. Their purpose is only ostensibly to keep the Koreans in check. Their true purpose is to warn the Chinese off flexing their military muscle in US-controlled areas.

hahaha, Dude, if you're talking conventional warfare here on the U.S.A. soil, the chinese and all the other military organizations combined are outnumbered by and do not stand a chance against the American Hunter and these hunters know how to use their stuff. If you are talking global nuclear war, well, there won't be anything left for any survivors to enjoy, so why implement total madness anyways. just saying.
