gsmonks: Call me crazy, but there's nothing I like better, when spending time with someone, than sitting under an awning on the beach, when it's pouring rain, with the rain drumming on the awning and everything else, with the cool, wet breeze and a fire going. Many people I know will look at such a scene and dismiss it as dark, overcast, wet and miserable. For me it's calming and serene, and has a beauty all its own.
Anyway, that's my little outdoor tale.
I think thats cool; we all have things we enjoy in life.

...Outdoor lover.
I remember my Mother saying to me once, "it's no wonder you love the outdoors so much, because when you were a baby we used to keep you outside and only brought you in when it went dark or rained heavily, and even then you would kick up a fuss."
I remember when I was little and my parents took me and my sibblings camping during the time that people were allowed to camp on beaches.
We'd build a campfire and lay under the stars and sleep in our sleeping bags. We'd wake up the next morning and my parents would be relighting that campfire to cook breakfast.
To this day I still enjoy going camping and roughing it so to speak.Put up a tent and building a campfire and cook our meals.
Hopefully in July my b/f and I will be taking a trip to Kentucky & Tennessee. We both haven't been there for quite sometime and we both miss seeing the mountains.

I enjoy being up in the mountains when I get the chance, setting up camp and warming by the campfire. I've had to do this a few times in the snow during season after locating some cows that were missed in the Fall roundup.
There is definitely something serene about listening to the rain and enjoying the cool, air freshening, earth cleansing breeze.

I love the great outdoors and have slept many of time under the stars in the bush and a few times on the beach a feeling of serenity to lay there with a fire crackling and the billy boiling away to have that famous cuppa and tell a few yarns.
