I lost my sense of smell many years ago. I miss many scents that would bring back many fond memories. Especially the smell of salt in the air. Growing up near Cronulla meant it was always in the air.
I have about a dozen roses planted and enjoy the beauty of them. My daughter lets me know how good theie secent is. Can I have that one in my garden?
I spent part of the day picking lemons (so many that the branches are going to break). Lemon scent is so refreshing, wish I could smell it. And the oranges are just as bad, really need cutting back the tree.
But being a sinus sufferer, and having a skin allergy to fragrance, sometimes I think it is a bonus not to have a sense f smell. Especially when I have to walk through the perfume displys.
But on the brighter side, it does have advantages
especially when I go outback with friends and it can be a bit of time between having a good tub or just a Pomme wash every other day.

plenty of pollen and nectar around here, it is too cold for the lazy bees to collect...

I have a butterfly bush in my garden, and when it blooms -late spring early summer - all the butterflys come and visit us
we have salvias growing wild under our roses and bushes the bees love them... I had some red ones, but they gradually started to bloom pink and then white. Someone in the area must have whites and the bees were pollenating across .... but I noticed last week .. one red salvia back again
