Back to the subject Sharia law. If the person has no objection to our laws, serves them obeys them..etc. Why do we oppose additional laws of their own belief? After all its their choice in Australia if they wish to keep their original faith or not.

AgentAjax: Hold on, Europe is predominantly Christian by many names which never would have conflicted with existing Christian beliefs. Then we have seen others that did such as Jewish who tried to go against the grain in protest against Christmas, Christian schools and churches because they found them offensive. They were told to show the same respect and tolerance towards our belief as we have for theirs. Now we have Muslims asking for the same rights… except they are not asking but demanding. Because of our democratic policies the law has no right to deny them that right but the public has the right to change any law through one vote or a god damn good demonstration… And Im still looking for a revolution.
UMM are we saying the same thing but coming from different directions !!!!

venere08: As I said earlier, jimbob, I was making an obvious point...which meant that it was not yourgreat grandfather personally. Just hoped you got my general drift which was really to highlight the stupidity irrationality of your previous comment.
Is all.
Yes but I stand up for my right to type irrationally as I am a man

So you have no problems with whippings or spearings in your street or the house next door !! Well if the cops in your part of oz are like those here they'll never find that house or street
Cause you know we have to let every different ethnic group be equal!!!

This will sound funny but I've moved up market from where I spent the last 20 yrs . Spent 20yrs in the Port Adelaide area .Well past the Port and before North haven .So there was a fair portion of indigenous and low income white folks like me .(My god its so peaceful compared to that suburb) Now moved closer to the airport city side . While there are indigenous and white folk(of all nationalities) .Theres plenty of young and older Asians lots of students I think .And the odd africans I've seen walking around . So I'm in the west close to the city .Plus theres so many restaurants cafes etc .Still gotta try the thai places that are near by .so much better than the port !!! PS The planes over head arent as bad as the goods trains that used to rattle the entire house we used to live in!!

Hi Jimbo...
Yes, I reckon you'd be right in the flight path... but you are obvioulsy enjoying that area. Mind you, I like going to the Port every now and again. There is a market down there that is worth a visit once in a while.
I sometimes pack a swag and go stay with my friends in Royal Park. I can get to work via Pt Road. Its actually easier than where I come from... I live in a Valley in the Hills.
For a while a few years back, I had papua new guinean neighbors in front and behind me... The lass behind me was wonderful.. she was a fuzzy wuuzzy with about 6 biros hidden in that hair do.. such a great laugh and fun person.. and of course, was related to the lass who lived across the road in front of me... great fun too. Then, there were a few families... they all packed up and moved off about the same time. Sad, because the thing I liked the most... their children played and laughed... It was like listening to music... they had a joy in their laughter that you just dont hear now days from our children. I really dont know how to describe it better than that.
and about the train noise... the goods trains that travel up the hill to go to Melb. screech their wheels. I can hear it as the noise travels and bounces around the valley. Foritunately, I am quite far from the tracks, but as there is no wind in the valley, late at night, I can hear the train.

IF the person has no objection to our laws???? What are you on about? They are in no position to object to our laws. None of us are. All we can ever do is try and get a law changed, but meantime we are required to abide by them. Laws of a country are NOT the same as customs, where you can pick and choose.

Jeez, AgentAjax, sometimes I do wonder...
oops I stand corrected…I meant if they want to exercise their customs.
venere08: Except that the issue on this thread regards Sharia law...not Sharia customs...
We don’t have two laws, one for the Muslims and the other for the non Muslims like they do in Asia. Therefore technically, only one can be a law the other a custom.
