How about dating after 60??? Truthfully could not be bothered. Learned to live by myself, have lots of friends (no benefits of that sort) and do as I please. Works for me.

Do you need advice?

Aim straight. Aim true. Don't point it at me!

hence why I've been single since my divorce in 1994. I didn't want a revolving door of "boyfriends" whilst I was raising my two children, I've seen that that does to kids. Got used to not dating for so long, then when the kids finally left the nest, I was too set in my ways, and independent, still haven't dated. Some may think that is sad, but I have been quite content to be on my own, really irks me when people "feel sorry" for me, but I will not risk my own sanity again just for the sake of being with someone.

Im a bit like you, in so far as the Short person doesnt get the opportunity to meet anyone now. I've been bitten where we both had to go through my breakup, cause Short had become very attached to the person.

Where Im finding it difficult is that Short is too old to be babysat, and can see very clearly if Im trying to shove Short off so that I can run riot in the romance dept. laugh But Short is still too young in my opinion to be left alone overnight.frustrated

I thought it would get easier as Short got older, but at the moment its actually harder to date, then when Short was young.

But never let it be said that I dont try laugh

I agree with you about leaving them alone ... No matter how well they behave its usually the peer pressure that gets them into trouble .. I know what I went through with my youngest daughter ..|

Having said this kids are alot more resilaint then we are and quite often recover pretty much un-scathed when its a non parent that goes away ... just going by my own eXperience here mind you ..

and dont worry Shell, with the older they get then more obstacles just seem to appear ...

Its always nice to see a MuM be a MuM over all else ....

hug thanks Prowler. I do worry about when Im not around, I've seen the trouble some of her friends have gotten into, and it just boggles my mind!!

as for more obstacles, well Im working on the theory that Short will be of the age where they become Shorts obstacles, not mine peace

Until then, I'll keep holding off on changing the locks until Short turns 18 laugh
