Faithe: Its travelled from Adelaide, they had it this morning.

You got me concerned so I just rang my parents in Adelaide. No mention of any winds, just of rain. We do get lots of gale force episodes there the last few years. I have a huge river red gum in front of my place(in suburb not acreage). Whoever planted it should be given a real talking to up in heaven.angel

venere08: though you would think high winds are welcomed on a wind farm.

he repairs the turbines and if any work is required on the outside of the turbines even tho they wear a saftey harness it becomes to dangerous with the wind being that strong.

No, I figured that part Faithe...spare the thought of anyone working in such conditions. Glad he's safe.

Where I am here in Puglia, lots of strong winds too. Wind farms dot the countryside on entry into the region... My first night last March, I was alone, gale force winds howled all night, power blackout, thunder, lightning. Rained so hard, the roof leaked near the chimney and water flooded in...oh the fun! doh

Well, it was so unlike anything I'd ever experienced, being in a strange place all on my own, that it felt as if I was in a movie. Which is probably why I wasn't the least bit scared. Just had to deal with it.laugh
