huh??? Apparently it's a common event to find kangaroos swimming between the islands of Stradebroke and some smaller islands....

There was talk of a kangaroo swimming from Stradebroke to Russell - I wonder how it managed to evade the terriatorial tiger shark... dunno

All animals can swim. Try dropping a cat in the lake and it will swim. Was in the Murrumbidgee when a snake swam by. My cousin said "Jesus Christ" as I ran across the water.

Most animals know how to swim but do not really like to do it. Nothing worse than wet hair (or fur) as it goes curly.doh

yep I have seen them swim as well, and they are very efficient swimmers as well

I have even seen a sheep in full wool with a fleece about 6" long swim across a dam. She swam well, but struggled to actually walk away with the weight of the wet wool

Funniest animal swimming incident was our cow who would swim the dam, get to where the electric fence was and actually duck her head fully under the water to get under the fence...
smart old sod she was!

When being bothered by dogs, Roos have been known to head for a dam and go into the water, when the dog comes in the roo will grab it and hold it under the water until it drowns. They are quite comfortable in water.

I guess they actually don't walk, you got me there mate. Now that I think about it somewhere I think I read that the Australian Armed Forces or a certain branch use that analogy because the will never go backwards or to retreat. I have never seen a roo except in the films.

Actually! Its about the coat of arms of Australia , the kangaroo and Emu next to the shield, nether animal can walk backwoods, unlike our politicians, nether side can act like an adult in parliament?
