jac379: But she'll feel it...and so will her child.
How do you know what she will feel? No one has said or done anything to make her feel ashamed or feel bad about getting pregnant. The young lady at my church has supportive parents and a church that will be there for her as well. So I don't see how you can say what someone will feel.
Let me give you another example of a teen mother in the Methodist church. My parent live a few states away. One of the teens got pregnant. She's a good kid but has had it rough. Her parent died and her and her siblings ended up living with relatives. She ended up getting pregnant. She still goes to church with her son. The preacher and the rest of the congregation has made sure that she (and her son) has a ride to and from church. If she needs a ride somewhere, they help her out, especially if she needs to take her son to the doctor.
I can't speak for the other denominations within the Protestant churches but in the methodist church the motto is "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors."

I'm cute (at least I think so), honest, loyal, modest, etc. To top it all off...I have all my original teeth and a pulse.
I just don't get it Jac. Why don't men like me bellowing at their windows and incessantly ringing their doorbells at 3 a.m.? Or showing up at their work with a pie? Or wearing my freshly pressed wedding dress on our first date? I just don't get it.

She'll feel the tension from others relating to her pregnancy. The fact that her pregnancy was a "surprise" as you mentioned before - she will feel that "surprise" whatever anyone says, however they act in support.
