My mom's side of the family is baptist. Actually, I think my grandfather's (my mom's dad) mom or grandmother was methodist. There's not a lot of differences between the methodist and baptists but I do enjoy giving my mom a hard time about the baptists....like most methodists and baptists do. I do know what you mean about sticking straight to the bible. Sometimes those discussions gets me frustrated (views on women and the relationship to the husband) but I won't go there...not right now anyway. Let's just say that it isn't what is taught in the methodist church and I'm sure it's not taught that way in the baptist church...my mom was a southern baptist before getting married. She'll tell you that she's still baptist.
