Envy51: @Red highlight ................ That is a simple answer,i was not looking for a man at the time i was living around other races !!!
@Blue hilight ................. Of course age has something to do woith it ............ life did not begin when you or i were born, over the ages it has been moving and changing and when i was younger their was not that many different races living in Ireland as there was when you were born .............. and there sure as hell is a lot more living here on the 4th Jan 2012 ........and there will be more still as the years roll on !!!!!!!!!
It has nothing to do with age, it's about preference, ignorance and moving with the times......i don't think you're ignorant

I would like to think i look at everyone in the same light ........... but i would not be true to myself i said that ....... but i try !!!!! Maybe moving with the times gets that bit harder as a person gets older ........ i think it does
I am English, lived in Wales for years and have a soft spot for the Irish! If that doesn't make me open to multiculturalism then I don't know what does
Envy51: That is because the UK was multi racial long before Ireland was ............. do you agree, we are playing catch up in lots of ways ............
Kool, but don't u think it's about time the country moved on...?

Envy51: Would you be willing to date and marry outside outside of your race. Most people appear willing to date outside their race, but they still state preferences. A recent study of profiles submitted to the online dating site Match.com in the states showed, for example, that whites are more open to dating Hispanics and Asians than blacks are. And younger clients are more willing to date outside their race than older clients. Would any of you have a problem marrying a non Irish person even?
My preference to dating somebody outside my race is Hispanic /Latino , I prefer to try and keep things simple , though never having dated anybody outside of my own race I couldn't find it in me to date a black girl . Skin colourwise it would be too much of a departure for me .

Just posted this in the intl forum...seems perhaps pertinent to this thread also.
What is Race?
What is Race? When some people use the “race” they attach a biological meaning, still others use “race” as a socially constructed concept. It is clear that even though race does not have a biological meaning, it does have a social meaning which has been legally constructed.

What do you mean a departure? If Halle Berry fluttered her eyelids at you would you tell her you dated whites only?
Urbuddy: Absolutely I would . How is it you've not expressed your OWN preferences but quick off the mark to criticise and pick at others .
I don't have a preference so cannot express one. I have dated a coloured lady in the past and would again in a heartbeat. I agree with Macca that for whatever reason not many women from other races or cultures seem to socialise in the same pubs as I do but thats life I guess...
And if it sounded critical it was because I saw it as a very black and white comment if you'll pardon the pun...
I have lived for 4 years with man of different race, religion and skin colour to me. I wouldn't purposely go for a certain type...to me it is about chemistry, love, lust, respect, caring (normal relationship stuff) rather than where they are from or what colour they are!
I wouldn't rule anyone one out until I meet them face to face and see what happens
skyblue43: "i couldn't find it in me to date a black"....that seems clear enough. What did I twist?
I doubt there was any malice in it sky people just do what theyre used to Ive dated a black girl and slept with a few so it would be easy for me to do it again
urbuddy just meant its not something he is used to so is more comfortable sticking with what he knows
