Personally, I think Putin is throwing snow in your face....China military is growing. I admit that. But China is no dummy. Starting a war with Russia to gain it Oil assets makes little sense when China can buy the crude on the market from it vast BOP reserve.
I am surprised that Putin has not suggested running a new pipeline from Siberia to China. Think about it my European friends. That means a hole lot less Siberian gold for you. But that is a economic incentive for both countries.
