Hi Merri,

We have had enough of them that's for sure. It has been a quiet week for shakes and when there are none I tend to think that a bigger one is just around the corner as that has been the trend since they started.

I was reading the blogs and "Parti" said that there had been another quake in Moe. I will have to look it up. Melbourne was fortunate in that last nights quake was so far away from the CBD.

Good morning Kauri and Merri..wave

Just felt another small tremor at 7.20 am but only lasted about 3 seconds.

Kauri how do you live with that fear daily wondering when another one will hit?

Here in Wonthaggi, the window behind me started rattling, my chair started shaking, I touched the walls and it felt like a truck was hitting them and then my pile of Prisoner Cell Block H DVD's fell over

As I work out that way (20 mins from Moe), a lot of people at work felt it very close and personal. Lady at Moe had stuff falling off the shelves, light fittings swing, dog barking at the air. Grabbed her dog and ran outside. Next thing cop cares everywhere down at the shopping centre. Coles and Woolworths lost all their stock off the shelves, and alarms in the centres going mad.

Warragul Coles is reported to have structural damage (need to check that as it doesn't seem likely being so far away). And they are about to do extensionsrolling on the floor laughing Maybe the owner organised the quake for insurance purposesrolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

It has been strong winds in towards Melb, gusting a bit. I was sitting quietly here tonight about 10 mins ago when a strong gust hit again and I thought it was the start of last night' effort again. Last night, I thought it was a wind gust at first and no it wasn't. The earth moved for me, and I was on my owndoh doh

But at least it gets everyone talking about something else instead of rain, flooding, football and who won, or is about to win, a talent show.

wash2u: Said by some guy living on top of a hill far enough away not to feel "the earth move."

Todays media gives us the hype to fear what may never happen in our neighbourhood. Hark back to Orsen Wells with his radio broadcast of "War of the Worlds."

Created mass hysteria by reading a novel. He was banned from radio (no TV those days) but really started the media propaganda revolution.
yes ,safe up here,we just have bushfires and mini tornadoes and floods, nothing drastic laugh
